<div>The Visual Storytelling division of ESPN Creative Studio is a team of creative directors, art directors, animators, concept artists, visual journalists, photo editors, web developers, graphic designers and strategy producers whose work reaches across every ESPN platform: We lead the creative direction and execution of on-air brand identities for ESPN&rsquo;s live events and studio shows. We are responsible for the creative content on ESPN.com and the ESPN app, including photography, illustration, and interactive storytelling. We create and produce key art for ESPN+ and manage product art across our digital products. We manage the design voice of our ESPN brand, from holistic marketing campaigns to cross-platform creative systems.
ESPN Creative Studio is looking for a Designer II to join its award-winning Visual Storytelling team. The Designer II position is responsible for the hands-on creation, development, and delivery of design and motion across multiple platforms. This role supports both quick-turn and long-range assignments and collaborates with partners across ESPN Creative Studio; including, but not limited to, content, product, marketing, and traditional broadcast. This position will have an emphasis on the continued support, advancement, and innovation of how the ESPN brand travels within DTC initiatives.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Utilize Adobe Suite to create designs for short-term and long-range assignments.</li><li>
Work under the direction of senior-level leaders to support all ESPN platforms in the creation of elements such as: television graphics, key art, quick-form edits, animation packages, cross-company branding, social templates, marketing materials, etc.</li><li>
Collaborate effectively with creative and editorial partners to elevate ESPN&rsquo;s storytelling.</li><li>
Contribute compelling, elevated design and motion solutions that support our continual pursuit of creative excellence.</li><li>
Integrate seamlessly into established team workflows and processes.</li><li>
Translate assignment details and creative direction into custom graphical layout and animated solutions.</li><li>
Possesses strong individual and team communication skills - effectively communicate out to Production and Project Assignment peers to ensure strong dialogue exists throughout the day &amp; keep timelines &amp; expectations on track (Teams/Email/Asana).</li><li>
Regularly contribute ideas/initiatives, demonstrate desire to push creativity to the next level, and show aptitude to learn new software to enhance individual versatility on assignments.</li><li>

Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>
Minimum of 3 years of professional motion and design experience working within a creative studio or media organization.</li><li>
Strong grasp of motion theory, typography, composition, and hierarchy.</li><li>
Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite; Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects</li><li>
Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for timely results.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>

The hiring range for this remote position is $67,569.00 to $104,280.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate&rsquo;s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.</div>

Designer II

<div>The Supervising Effects Artist is responsible for producing high-level custom animations and supervising the work of others. This is a hands-on creative role within ESPN Creative Studio, with responsibilities across animation, visual effects, and graphic design. This position oversees daily workload of a team of animators, guiding the development of high-level content for ESPN&rsquo;s domestic and international platforms. The role combines expert-level creative execution with strategic supervision, workflow optimization, and talent development. It requires excellence in 2D animation and graphic design, experience in 3D animation, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Supervise and mentor a team of animators and effects artists, both onsite and remote</li><li>
Directly manage 2-3 direct reports</li><li>
Lead creative reviews, performance evaluations, and provide actionable feedback</li><li>
Provide software / technical / workflow leadership across projects to ensure creativity, quality, and efficiency.</li><li>

Supervising Effects Artist

<div>The Designer I role responsible for the creation and management of live, on-air and storytelling graphics for multiple ESPN productions across our linear and digital content-platforms. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to produce award-winning content while collaborating with world-class teammates on sports&rsquo; biggest stages.
The Designer I will have the ability to work independently and in groups, often under tight deadlines. The position requires a sharp eye for design, modern graphic communications, and visual storytelling skills, as well as a strong communicator with a deep interest in our brand.
The Visual Storytelling division of ESPN Creative Studio is a team of concept artists, animators, visual journalists, photo editors, developers, and designers whose work reaches across all ESPN platforms. We concept, design, and direct on-air motion graphic brand identities for all of ESPN&rsquo;s live events, studio shows, ESPN+ original content, and streaming. Our team is also responsible for editorial design and photography on the ESPN website, ESPN app, and we lead the creative identity for Andscape.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Use Adobe software to create designs and animations for ESPN productions adhering to workflow processes.</li><li>
Collaborate with senior designers and other team members to develop creative concepts and execute design projects.</li><li>
Works independently and with Show Unit personnel to deliver on-time, on-brand graphic content for live production requests, for on-air linear broadcasts, streaming productions, and digital platforms.</li><li>
Learn and maintain systems for organizing and managing design assets, including templates, style guides, and libraries.</li><li>
Assist in the design and production of on-air and studio display graphics, informational graphics, logo design and animations.</li><li>
Produce and manage identity graphics (player, entity, and brand imagery) and other library content assets.</li><li>
Support the creation of on-air graphics and animations for live sports broadcasts and highlight packages.</li><li>
Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all platforms</li><li>
Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate new design techniques to keep our content fresh and innovative.</li><li>
