About </b><b>the Emer</b><b>gency Department at Southdale</b><b>:</b></div><ul><li>
Our ED is a 44-bed multifunctional private rooms, Level 3 Trauma Center that treats over 55,000 patients per year. All rooms have the capability to monitor heart rhythms, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure. In addition, three rooms have been established to handle critically ill or trauma patients, one of those specifically for pediatric patients. Our rooms are crafted to help all types of patients including mental health, high acuity patients and low acuity patients!</li><li>
 In addition to being a Trauma Center, the Hospital is a Cardiac Center of Excellence and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.</li><li>
Team members include Emergency Physicians, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Mental Health Providers, Pharmacists and Case Managers.</li><li>
Our team works in an environment that has both an ambulatory and EMS/ambulance entrance. These areas are supervised by surveillance cameras and have an &ldquo;emergency signal&rdquo; to summon additional help. Access to diagnostic services is available 24 hours a day.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Schedule</b><b>:</b><b> </b><b>This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 </b><b>hours</b><b> every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night </b><b>shift and will also work every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).</b></div><div></div><div><b><br>

Required Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
MN RN License</li><li>
BLS and ACLS for Health Care Providers</li><li>
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of hire.</li><li>
Current RN Emergency Department, pediatric/adult critical care or 2 years of current RN IMC experience.</li></ul><div><b>
Preferred Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
BSN</li><li>
Certification by the board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a CEN, and/or course in advanced trauma nursing (ATCN).</li><li>
ED Charge Nurse experience.</li></ul><br>

As an Intermediate Care Float Pool RN you will float to the Neuro unit, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical and IMC units. In a less frequent capacity you may float to Orthopedic, Medical/Tele unit, Observation and Oncology. You will have additional opportunity to cross train more areas if needs dictate.</div><div>
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
