The Grant Writer position exists to develop persuasive proposals, reports, and donor communications using exceptional creative writing and editing skills. This role requires a keen ability to write concisely while maintaining a compelling and emotionally engaging narrative that aligns with our mission.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Develops compelling storytelling elements to engage funders and highlight the organization’s impact</li>
<li>Edits and refines existing content to improve clarity, tone, and effectiveness</li>
<li>Researches and synthesizes complex information into clear, donor-friendly language</li>
<li>Effectively communicates with internal department leads to gather information and content to use in donor engagements</li>
<li>Researches and identifies potential foundations, conducting in-depth prospect screenings to support the Foundation Relations Manager and department representatives</li>
<li>Engages in strategic outreach, including calling and writing to prospects to gather key contact information and connect with foundation leadership</li>
</ul>
Other Duties/Responsibilities: 
Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., printed pieces, voice work, photography, video, music, etc.) for distribution in all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, DVD and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which will be for the benefit of Focus on the Family.

The Focus Bookstore, located in Holland Michigan, provides hand-picked resources to help families navigate the journeys of marriage, parenting, and the development of a relationship with Christ at any stage of life. The Bookstore Associate position exists to assist constituents, customers, and staff in selecting and purchasing appropriate resources to match their needs, provides a high level of customer service that represents the mission and values of Focus on the Family, maintains the professional appearance of the sales floor and Point of Sale area; requires general supervision referring difficult questions to management as needed.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Represents the ministry of Focus on the Family to the visiting constituency, local customers, and staff</li>
<li>Assists constituents/customers with product selection in person and via telephone</li>
<li>Handles questions and customer situations in a poised and confident manner knowing safety and security procedures</li>
<li>Maintains an ongoing and thorough knowledge of all products: Christian retail market and FOF branded resources</li>
<li>Maintains on going product knowledge of all in-store specials/promotions and premiums offered through FOF magazines and radio broadcasts</li>
<li>Requires extensive knowledge of new products that arrive on an ever-changing large sales floor</li>
<li>Processes sales transactions accurately and efficiently using Bookstore Manager Point of sales software system</li>
<li>Prepares product for display, unpacking shipments and labeling</li>
<li>Places “special” orders for customers using the Bookstore Manager point of sale computer software</li>
<li>Maintains and merchandises product on the sales floor while utilizing retail merchandising/display principles</li>
<li>Assists in identifying new and innovative ways to display and merchandise product</li>
</ul>
Other Duties/Responsibilities:

<li>May identify inventory needs and communicate needs to management</li>
<li>Attends regular staff meetings</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

<li>Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam</li>
<li>Occasional holiday and weekend work is required</li>
<li>Retail bookstore—10,000 sq. feet</li>
<li>Ability to stand or walk throughout entire work shift, stooping, kneeling</li>
<li>Repetitive motion—keying sales transactions</li>
<li>Ladder work with required training</li>
<li>Some Holiday work required</li>

The Social Media Moderation Specialist position exists to maintain, cultivate, and assist Relationship Services in responding to and engaging with Focus on the Family’s social media audience. This position will use social media response expertise to guide Relationship Services on best response practices for all social media platforms and will procure social media content calendars from content producers, assisting in the development of social media response strategies, and providing quality assurance of responses. This position will stay current on best response practices in social media and assist Relationship Services Management with trending research and response development across Focus on the Family’s social media channels.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Is responsible for procuring and reviewing content schedules from stakeholders and crafting responses for upcoming media initiatives</li>
<li>Assists in the monitoring of incoming social media engagement requiring response, reassigning to the appropriate response team, as necessary</li>
<li>Provides guidance to the social media response team when crafting non-standardized and/or difficult responses</li>
<li>Works closely with the Training Support Team to develop training and refreshers for the social media response team</li>
<li>Collaborates with the Process Team to create procedures for dynamic social media responses</li>
<li>Participates in on-going training and education around social media best response practices</li>
<li>Monitors social media responses to ensure the social media response team is generating engagement in the various social media channels</li>
<li>Determines appropriate response metrics that aligns with industry standards and measures the social media response team’s duties against such metrics</li>
<li>Ensures the social media response team is meeting desired response outcomes as identified by the social media team</li>
<li>Establishes quality assurance measures for the social media response team and evaluates the social media team’s individual responses; Provides feedback that aligns with established quality assurance measures</li>
</ul>

<li>Must be available outside normal business hours to moderate and respond to messages on Focus on the Family’s various social media channels</li>
