 Job Description
 
 
 
 Duties:
 
 
 The reporter will attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas. They will weigh in on story selection. The reporter will help gather as much content for as much linear and digital programming as possible. They will work to help build the station&rsquo;s reputation and relationships in the community. They will be responsible for writing stories for linear and digital programming.
 
 
 Equipment:
 
 
 Reporter will be expected to use Inews or other internal communication system, Slack, myfoxpay and Workday. The reporter should be capable of shooting and editing a quality news package meeting the standards of the market. This means if called upon the reporter could use a phone camera to gather news and produce a simple quality package worthy of air.
 
 
 Working Conditions:
 
 
 Primary work environment is the field, news vehicle and news building. Occasional time spent in the actual studio.
 
 
 Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
 
 
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism, broadcast journalism or a related field of study is preferred. 3+ years experience writing and researching news required. Candidate must demonstrate strong writing skills and great knowledge of current events. Candidate must be a team player and available to work flexible hours including holidays.  WFLD/WPWR is seeking a News Associate Producer (Per Diem) for our evolving news department. The Associate Producer will be exposed to all aspects of our news operation. This person will contribute to daily programing across linear and digital properties. They will also work with our daily news gathering team. You will be expected to do story research, digital content production, assist in breaking news coverage and work with our robust digital operation.

 Experience &amp; Education: A minimum 3-5 years of on-air anchoring and reporting in a top 20 major market or comparable market scale. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism, communications, or related field required.

 News Judgment: Superior news judgment and a strong, current understanding of local, national, and world events.
 </li>
 <li>
 Technical Acumen: Demonstrated expertise with modern newsroom computer systems, live technology, and non-linear editing tools.
 </li>

 Digital Dominance &amp; Brand Building: A demonstrated track record of using various digital platforms (social media, website, streaming) not just for news consumption, but for proactive news-breaking, building a community, and elevating the station&rsquo;s brand and personal digital profile.

 Pressure-Tested: Proven ability to work accurately, efficiently, and calmly under extreme pressure and strict, often fluid, deadlines.
 </li>

 To be considered for this premier opportunity, candidates must submit a reel of recent on-air work demonstrating anchoring, reporting, and live breaking news abilities. This is primarily a morning shift, but as a 24/7 news operation flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage is essential. Candidates will be required to join the SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic Local union for the on-air news unit.

 Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67.30-83.70 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
