We are seeking an Operations Manager, Waste Services to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Perform duties in support of the Waste Management Program.</li><li>
Prepare documentation to support waste management operations of waste and weapon components.</li><li>
Provide support to Process Engineering through review of procedures for proper waste accumulation and processing.</li><li>
Provide support to Subcontractor Construction Management through completion of characterization documents including approval of Construction Waste Management Plans.</li><li>
Support subcontractor personnel in proper waste management practices.</li><li>
Provide support of assessments/audits (both internal and external) of Waste Management Program.</li><li>
Develop/revise procedures as needed to assure continuity of operations and provide process improvement.</li></ul>
Requirements<ul><li>
Education &amp; Years of Experience &ndash; Technical degree and 10 years of progressive experience in waste operations. Additional years of operations management experience may be substituted as equivalent to the technical degree.</li><li>
Citizenship &ndash; To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.</li><li>
Clearance &ndash; To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
</li><li>Must be familiar with RCRA, TSCA, DOE Order 435.1, Radioactive Waste Management; DOT regulations, and related state of Tennessee requirements.</li><li>
Knowledge and experience in managing personnel in various disciplines, including union craft labor.</li><li>
Demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects, within budget and on schedule, in a safe and compliant manner.</li><li>
Wide range of waste management operational experience.</li></ul>
About the Site
The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation&rsquo;s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium. Y-12 supports efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation risk and performs work for other government agencies (energy.gov).<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
