<div><p>GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator II.</p><p>
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:</p><p><b>
Position purpose</b></p><p>
Performs various clerical duties for office manager, or providers including: answering telephones, taking messages, scheduling appointments, copying, and creating/scanning charts. Responsible for data entry and patient account follow up, as well as monthly reports.</p><p><b>
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks</b>:</p><ul><li>
Answer and screens high volume telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for providers and other personnel.</li><li>
Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Check-in patients upon arrival at the office as well as check-out upon departure.</li><li>
Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.</li><li>
Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.</li><li>
Verify account balances and refunds for accuracy. Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.</li><li>
File records in appropriate sections of patient charts in EMR.</li><li>
Prepare patient charts in advance and scan documents into charts in EMR.</li><li>
Transcribe letters and create forms as needed.</li><li>
Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.</li><li>
Maintain organization and efficiency of front office, including office supply inventory.</li><li>
Maintain patient confidentiality.</li><li>
Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications</b>
</p><p><b>Education: </b>High school diploma or GED.</p><p><b>
Experience: </b>Minimum of four years of experience in a medical office, front office or scheduling experience preferred.</p><p><b>
Requirements for Level II Status:</b></p><ul><li>
Intermediate experience (4+ years experience) and/or acting more independently,</li><li>
Takes on some additional duties to assist the office.</li><li>
Strong and consistent performer.</li></ul><p><b>
Performance Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.</li><li>
Knowledge of computer programs and applications.</li><li>
Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.</li><li>
Skill in operating office equipment</li><li>
Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately.</li><li>
Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.</li><li>
Skill in written and verbal communication.</li><li>
Ability to learn/use other computer programs including Microsoft&reg; Excel, e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft&reg; PowerPoint.</li><li>
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.</li><li>
Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.</li><li>
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.</li></ul><p>

Front Desk Coordinator II

<div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>General Summary:</b></h3><p>
Responsible for transcribing medical progress notes for physicians and other healthcare professionals into medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative material, which typically become part of patients&rsquo; permanent files.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
ssential Job Responsibilities:</b></h3><ul><li>
Transcribe notes for physicians during a patient visit and place orders for lab/imaging/medications as requested by the physician.</li><li>
E&amp;M and CPT coding under the direction of the physician.</li><li>
Assist the physician in procedures as needed.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned such as checking in patients, scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, scanning patient documents, and handling the physician&rsquo;s voicemail.</li><li>
Other clerical duties as assigned by a manager.</li><li>
Review physicians' telephone encounters and documents.</li><li>
Pre-chart notes and acquire missing records required for the visit.</li><li><b>
Scribes are not authorized to interact with patients without direct instructions from the provider.</b><ul><li>
Under no circumstances is the scribe to make any medical decisions, place orders, or prescribe medication without direct supervision from the provider.</li></ul></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Education:</b></h3><p>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree is recommended but not always required. On-the-job training is often available in a medical practice supervised by an experienced scribe.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Experience:</b></h3><p>
Minimum one year of medical transcription experience, preferably in a medical practice environment.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Performance Requirements:</b></h3><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Knowledge:</b></h4><ul><li>
Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments.</li><li>
How to translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms using the physician&rsquo;s guidance.</li><li>
Medical record protocols and legal and ethical requirements related to keeping patient information confidential.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Skills:</b></h4><ul><li>
Spotting mistakes or inconsistencies in a medical report and correcting the information.</li><li>
Following medical record style standards.</li><li>
Navigating an EMR and Microsoft software.</li></ul></div>
