Available Schedules: <ul><li>Vacant #1: Monday/Sunday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Wednesday: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm; Thursday/Friday: 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Tuesday/Saturday: off.</li><li>Vacant #2: Monday/Thursday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Wednesday/Friday: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm; Saturday: 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Sunday/Tuesday: off.</li></ul>General Function:This position reports to the Transit Coordinator Supervisor and supports the transit operations in the following areas; fare reconciliation, reservations, customer care, scheduling, and dispatch department staff in all areas of the unit.Accountability:This position reports to the Transit Coordinator Supervisor and works collaboratively with all staff assigned to the District.Position Requirements:<ul><li>Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and compliance with company procedures and guidelines.</li><li>Provide appropriate and accurate information to customers, drivers and other transit coordinators.</li><li>Monitor transit software to ensure routes are operating and on-time.</li><li>Reserve, schedule, communicate with customers as needed, and dispatch drivers to various locations.</li><li>Able to communicate courteously and effectively both orally and in writing.</li><li>Assist customers on the phone in a professional manner. Assure compliance with all ADA rules and regulations.</li><li>Ability to maintain composure in handling emergencies and other unexpected situations.</li><li>Train in all transit operation functions.</li><li>Handle heavy call volume and two-way radio traffic.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Transit Coordinator Supervisor.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Must maintain a respectful working relationship with all GNHTD employees and treat all employees, vendors, and customers in a professional manner.</li><li>Must be a problem solver, and able to make adjustments.</li><li>Ability to remain calm while addressing emergency situations.</li><li>Be able to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.</li><li>One (1) year of Dispatch and/or Customer Service experience in the transportation field preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides a demonstrated potential for performing the duties of this position.</li><li>Must have effective written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Must have experience in using computer and computer software, transit/scheduling software a plus.</li><li>Must have experience with phones, email, and Microsoft office software.</li><li>Flexible to work any days and shifts a plus, including emergencies, weekends and holidays.</li><li>Fluent in Spanish is a plus.</li></ul>Other Duties:The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this position.
