 Assistant General Manager
 
 is responsible for building a culture of excellence and achieving cost and performance targets in all aspects of distribution center operations.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead operations at the distribution center to achieve cost and performance goals, including delivery of outstanding service to stores
 </li>
 <li>
 Build strong culture of excellence with highly engaged team of managers and associates
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and forecast budgets and deliver cost performance meeting budget goals while meeting or beating performance KPI&rsquo;s
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive reduction of distribution costs and improvement of service to stores and customers
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop recommendations and strategy to continually improve service and cost performance
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate, track and resolve operational performance and quality issues
 </li>
 <li>
 Close collaboration with internal and external business partners to drive excellence across the extended supply chain
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and enforce systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage material handling systems, WMS, facilities and equipment maintenance to achieve target performance levels
 </li>
 <li>
 Educate and direct Management and Associates to follow and maintain established company, federal, state and local policies and procedures in compliance with company safety practices and OSHA
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrate outstanding energy and the ability to energize others to achieve goals
 </li>
 <li>
 Define and communicate supply chain and distribution vision and strategy
 </li>
 <li>
 Educate and direct team to follow and maintain established company, federal, state and local policies and procedures in compliance with company safety practices and OSHA
 </li>
 <li>
 Recruit, select, orient, train, coach, counsel and discipline Managers
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop Management and Associates to increase their capabilities and job performance
 </li>
 <li>
 Plan, monitor and appraise performance results and administer disciplinary action if necessary
 </li>
 <li>
 Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
 </li>
 <li>
 Schedule expenditures, research and analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the implementation of daily, weekly and monthly priorities and production plans
 </li>
 <li>
 Research, compile, initiate, sort and analyze production performance records and data
 </li>
 <li>
 Answer questions and respond to requests by internal customers at stores and company headquarters
 </li>
 <li>
 Report and respond to any unsafe and unclean work environments and violations
 </li>
 <li>
 Associate training and qualification and retention of related records
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate new equipment and techniques
 </li>
 <li>
 Regular attendance is an essential function of the job

 RequirementsJob Qualifications &ndash; Education And Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 BS in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Management or related field
 </li>
 <li>
 3-5 years of management experience in domestic transportation with a retailer or manufacturer
 </li>
 <li>
 5+ years of experience with 3PL, Ocean Carriers, Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and small package/parcel modes
 </li>
 <li>
 Have an understanding and in-depth knowledge of international and domestic transportation industry best practices
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with outsourced transportation management and multiple modes of delivery
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven ability as a self-starter and proactive problem-solver
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven ability to develop and mentor direct reports
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with managing transportation functions in an extremely fast paced, high energy and growing organization
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong computer and analytical skills
 </li>

 The candidate must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
 
 
 The anticipated salary range for this position is $152,949 &mdash; $191,186 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In
 
 
 addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 200 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
