Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Piping Designer (Fixed Term Contract - 12months) to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Gurugram/ Gurgaon &ndash; India. 
Summary
The Piping Designer is responsible for the production of Piping 3D models and 2D deliverables in accordance with Project requirements and Company standards. Technical guidance is provided by supervisory level designers and engineers. 
As a successful candidate, you will: 
<ul><li>
Adhere to and promote the Company safety culture</li><li>
Perform 3D piping design and modelling to meet Company quality standards</li><li>
Develop engineering design details and special items drawings Layout piping and provide input to mechanical equipment location</li><li>
Perform design for piping/mechanical plant models using project specifications/procedures and applying industry best practice</li><li>
Use Vendor drawings and information sheets to develop the model</li><li>
Develop piping Material Take Offs (MTOs)</li><li>
Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines</li><li>
Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models</li><li>
Annotation of 2D drawings extracted from the 3D model</li><li>
Locate standard pipe supports in the model and design special pipe supports with Stress Engineer&rsquo;s input</li><li>
Participate in formal design review processes</li><li>
Prepare stress sketches</li><li>
Extract and check ISOs</li><li>
Produce piping General Arrangement (GA) and equipment location drawings</li></ul> 
You bring to the role:
Essential<ul><li>
Technology Diploma or equivalent (Mechanical)</li><li>
Piping design experience of Five &ndash; Ten years</li><li>
Design and modelling skills in a 3D environment</li><li>
Experience with AVEVA E3D 3D design systems</li></ul><ul><li>
Working knowledge of piping components and materials</li><li>
Understanding of P&amp;IDs.</li><li>
Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for piping design</li><li>
Experience with isometric production control and monitoring</li><li>
Good understanding of other discipline requirements</li><li>
Proficient in the use of 2D CAD systems</li><li>
Good communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>
Working knowledge of design systems and workflows as they relate to the Piping practice.</li></ul> 
Preferred<ul><li>
Experience with Bentley Openplant and/or Hexagon SmartPlant will be added advantage</li><li>
Experience within a large-project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment, in Oil &amp; Gas, Metals &amp; Minerals</li><li>
Site experience in a piping technical role</li></ul>

The Lead Structural Designer is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the production of concrete and steel 3D models and 2D deliverables in accordance with the project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Structural Engineer. The Lead Structural Designer is required to apply specialized and/or advanced modeling and/or drawing techniques in order to produce timely deliverables to meet project schedule. 
The Lead Structural Designer supervises and coordinates a wide range of projects encompassing all structural concrete and steel structures in a wide range of industries such as mining, heavy industrial and infrastructure. Activities include the coordination of concrete and steel modeling for both front end planning studies and the detailed engineering phase for multidisciplinary projects. 
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul><li>
Supervise and coordinate the work of the designers and senior designers in the preparation of models and contract drawings, record keeping and other statistical work</li><li>
Supervise, produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 3D CAD software as required</li><li>
Coordinate layout work and design details and checking prior to release</li><li>
Create and update project History files and drawing files/folders</li><li>
Supervise coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines and participate in formal engineering review processes in conjunction with Design Coordinator</li><li>
Multi-discipline coordination and preparation of design concepts for internal and client review in conjunction with Design Coordinator</li><li>
Ensure coordination with Design Coordinator for clash detection and project deliverables</li><li>
In conjunction with engineering staff, produce detailed engineering models, engineering drawings and documentation for identified and approved concepts/projects</li><li>
Ensure all discipline workflows are maintained and coordinate between engineers and designers and ensure all designers are adequately trained in all tools used to produce deliverables</li><li>
Ensure all designs follow appropriate safety in design principles with regards to access and egress, constructability and clean plant design</li><li>
Ensure quality of all models and drawings including accuracy of models and layout of drawings</li><li>
Assist Lead Structural Engineer with planning and maintaining modeling/drafting schedules and budgets.</li></ul> 
Qualifications and Experience: 
<ul><li>
Associates Degree or equivalent (civil/structural)</li><li>
Minimum 7 years of experience in 2D design and 3D structural modeling with AutoDesk&reg; software, including, but not limited to AutoCAD&reg;, Revit&reg; and Civil 3D&reg;. Experience with Bentley&reg; products (Aecosim, Open Building, Microstation) is a plus</li><li>
Experience with large concrete and steel structures is required</li><li>
Experience in the heavy industral industry is preferred</li><li>
Must function independently with minimal supervision in a multi-discipline team setting</li><li>
Must mentor / assist on the job training of designers</li><li>
Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues</li><li>
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment</li><li>
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey project technical information to project managers, clients and peers</li><li>
Must demonstrate organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and provide direction to others ensuring the quality of deliverables</li><li>
Strong computer knowledge is required including Microsoft&reg; Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Sharepoint)</li><li>

 You Bring To The Role
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited college
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role
 </li>
 <li>
 Cable containment and/or underground utilities modelling experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in civil infrastructure, site planning, linear alignment design
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong design software skills including demonstrated experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Other software skills which will be considered useful include OpenRoads, Revit, ProjectWise and Microsoft Office.
 </li>
 <li>
 Work experience in completing design assignments for linear infrastructure projects and mine sites
 </li>
 <li>
 Good communication and interpersonal skills are needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Thorough understanding of inter-discipline requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Problem solving attitude and ability to work in a team-environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Willing to mentor junior staff
 </li>
