Overview
Assist the Front Office Manager in managing the Front Office operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with corporate/franchise policies and procedures while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Ensure that the arrival, departure, and any other guest contact experience are conducted in an efficient and friendly manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assign and instruct guest service agents in details of work. Observes performance and encourages improvement.</li><li>
Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions.</li><li>
Promptly complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate. Promote &bull;HEI Hotels and Resorts and brand-specific marketing programs. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Code electronic keys. Nonverbally confirm the room number and rate. Provide welcome folders containing room keys, certificates, coupons and refreshment center keys as appropriate. Close out guest accounts at time of check out.</li><li>
Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers, traveler&rsquo;s checks and other forms of payment. Perform accurate moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.</li><li>
Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear voice. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.</li><li>
Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for clerks and other associates. Resolve customer complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and determining the most effective solutions. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising approach to accommodate unusual situation. Authorize revenue allowances to remedy problems only after other alternative solutions have been offered.</li><li>

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.</li><li>

Qualifications and Skills
<ul><li>One year experience in customer service in hospitality or similar industry.</li><li>
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.</li><li>
Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.</li><li>
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.</li><li>
Ability to stand, walk and continuously perform behind the front desk. Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare complex reports of room availability and revenues generated.</li><li>
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.</li><li>
Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li><ul><li>Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.</li></ul></li></ul>

Overview
Prepare food of consistent quality and assist in kitchen functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.</li><li>
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.</li><li>
Date all food containers and rotate as per HEI Hotels and Resorts standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.</li><li>
Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.</li><li>
Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.</li><li>
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per HEI Hotels and Resorts standards.</li><li>
Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.</li><li>
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.</li><li>
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications and Skills
<ul><li>Hotel experience preferred.</li><li>
Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>

Overview
Assist the Director of Sales by reaching the agreed upon business travel revenue goals, in particular by soliciting national accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed business travel revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.</li><li>
Advanced level of producing business transient revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales.</li><li>
Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients.</li><li>
Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments&rsquo; participation in servicing accounts.</li><li>
Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.</li><li>
Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers.</li><li>
Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.</li><li>
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.</li><li>
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.</li><li>
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications and Skills
<ul><li>3+ years of past sales experience preferred.</li><li>
Hotel experience preferred.</li><li>
Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.</li><li>
Must have experience in business travel at a similar size and quality hotel.</li><li>
Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi. Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.</li><li>
Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.</li><li><ul><li>Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.</li></ul></li></ul>
