Hire Fellows

We're looking for an Accountant to join a food tech start-up in Bahrain. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for everything accounting — from making sure the numbers are spot-on to making sure the company is compliant with local tax rules. You’ll help streamline financial processes, and ensure that the business is making smart money moves.
 
Main Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Handling general accounting tasks like journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.</li>
<li>Maintaining a consistent and streamlined accounting infrastructure for Lola and all</li>
<li>entities.</li>
<li>Prepare local and consolidated financial statements and management reports in</li>
<li>compliance with IFRS and local standards.</li>
<li>Keeping an eye on cash flow, invoices, payments, and payroll processing.</li>
<li>Making sure we’re following GCC tax laws (especially VAT, ZATCA and corporate tax in</li>
<li>places like the UAE or KSA).</li>
<li>Working with auditors and external consultants when needed.</li>
<li>Improving our internal processes as we grow across markets.</li>
<li>Support budgeting and forecasting with real data and insights.</li>
<li>Implement and improve internal controls and accounting processes across all branches.</li>
</ul>
Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>3+ years of hands-on accounting experience.</li>
<li>Experience in fast-paced industries like F&B, tech, or retail.</li>
<li>Experience in regional / multi-national companies.</li>
<li>Experience handling consolidated financial reports & managing intercompany</li>
<li>transactions across entities or regions.</li>
<li>Familiarity with GCC VAT regulations and compliance.</li>
<li>Comfortable with tools like Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail — but also able to see the big picture.</li>
<li>Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks without breaking a sweat</li>
</ul>
Nice to Have: 
<ul>
<li>CPA, ACCA, or CMA certificate.</li>
<li>Prior experience in the fast-paced food industry, tech startup, or retail operations.</li>
<li>Experince in Gulf tax laws (VAT, Zakat, corporate tax,etc.).</li>
