JOB SUMMARY:
Hoyt is adding a Maintenance Technician to our team. This entry level role is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing the facilities manufacturing equipment, servicing major equipment breakdowns, and may be used to install new utility lines (electrical, plumbing, natural gas, water, phones, etc.).
JOB DETAILS<ul><li>
Perform mechanical repairs (and rebuild) on all machines.</li><li>
Perform in-depth inspections and preventative maintenance on all assigned assets to maintain equipment performance and discover deficiencies before they become problematic.</li><li>
Support with scheduling PM, reading reports, diagrams, and drawings.</li><li>
Able to work with complex machines up to &amp; including 5 Axis machines, automatic controllers, and robots.</li><li>
Perform machine leveling and alignment on all machines as required.</li><li>
Identify and replace parts, as necessary.</li><li>
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.</li><li>
Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.</li><li>
Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance companies to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.</li><li>
Work based on a sense of urgency with machine down conditions.</li><li>
In conjunction with the production team, will support continuous improvement of development of PM instructions and schedules to prevent failures.</li><li>
Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.</li><li>
Take the lead on all assigned capital improvement projects, at whatever stage it is handed over from the Maintenance Manager. This may include the creation of drawings and sketches, creating a Bill of Material, ordering, or fabricating necessary parts, writing or editing PLC programs, &middot; assembling and testing the project for use by production, and address potential personnel and equipment safety issues.</li><li>
Assist the Maintenance department in the planning, execution, and completion of projects, including offering technical advice and rendering assistance as called upon.</li><li>
Installs electrical distribution, up to 480 volts and 400 amps. Runs conduit, voice and data lines, liquid and pneumatic plumbing and air lines, as needed.</li><li>
Minor equipment and facility service responsibilities: The Maintenance Tech A will also perform equipment, process and facility maintenance tasks as assigned, or needed.</li></ul>
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Responsible for general housekeeping of the shop area.</li><li>
Work all scheduled hours up to seven days a week including overtime.</li><li>
Maintains good attendance.</li><li>
Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and rules. Including LOTO and PPE.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>
TRAINING, EDUCATION, &amp; EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, Associate degree, completion of a related trade school program, or equivalent experience.
 REQUIRED PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
Equipment rebuild experience &gt;3 years</li><li>
Electrical, industrial wiring &gt;3 years</li><li>
Major equipment and machine servicing experience &gt;3 years</li><li>
Installation and servicing of standard industrial utility systems including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, water, and communication. &gt;3 years</li></ul> 
QUALITY AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
 Decision Making and Problem Solving:
The Maintenance Tech A is responsible for decision-making related to the completion of projects and work assignments to resolve problems in a timely and cost-effective manner, with minimal interruption to production. Must be able to determine when a project or assignment is outside the scope of individual&rsquo;s ability in order to source outside help.
 Interaction with Others:
This position requires interacting with all levels of employees, ranging from the president to operators on the production floor. In addition, the Maintenance Tech A interacts with outside vendors.
 Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities:
This position may require assisting other technicians with troubleshooting and equipment repairs by using their knowledge for training and support. Some tasks may require supervision of technicians as they assist with equipment repairs. 
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:<ul><li>
The time spent in the production area involves working with potentially hazardous manufacturing operations, equipment, machine tools, hand tools, dust and varying noise levels.</li><li>
The majority of the required tasks would be completed inside of the facility with appropriate lighting levels, access to utilities, and a temperature-controlled environment.</li><li>
Safety hazards exist from working with electricity, metal shavings, and chemicals.</li><li>
Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated levels.</li></ul>
MENTAL PRESSURE:
Constant concentration to solve logic problems coupled with frequent interruptions and noise make a difficult working environment. Machine breakdowns must be fixed as quickly as possible so as not to interrupt production. This can create a stressful environment.
