As a member of the IEEE RAS team, the Sr Editorial Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and leadership support for one or more RAS journals. This role serves as a critical liaison between the Editor-in-Chief (EiC), editorial boards, and authors to ensure a high-quality, timely peer review process. Beyond journal-specific duties, the Associate acts as a versatile resource for the RAS Executive Director, assisting with society-wide initiatives, governance support, and special projects as needed.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>
1. Journal Management &amp; Peer Review Support</b></p><ul><li><b>
Daily Operations:</b> Manage the daily workflow for assigned journals, handling high volumes of emails (30&ndash;50 per day) and troubleshooting user issues.</li><li><b>
System Administration:</b> Maintain proficiency in <b>PaperCept</b> or other designated peer-review systems to manage manuscripts, update rosters, and configure sites for special collections.</li><li><b>
Quality Assurance:</b> Conduct detailed side-by-side file comparisons to ensure all citations, keywords, and metadata meet IEEE Xplore specifications prior to publication.</li><li><b>
Workflow Monitoring:</b> Track the progress of thousands of submissions, sending reminders to Senior and Associate Editors to ensure editorial deadlines are met.</li></ul><p><b>
2. Board &amp; Volunteer Leadership</b></p><ul><li><b>
Recruitment &amp; Training:</b> Manage the bi-annual cycle of recruiting, data compilation, and voting for new editorial board members.</li><li><b>
Onboarding:</b> Conduct training for new editors and ensure all documentation and system access are properly configured.</li><li><b>
Strategic Meetings:</b> Prepare comprehensive presentations for board meetings and society reviews (e.g., PAB or PRAC reviews), identifying performance trends and opportunities.</li></ul><p><b>
3. Financial &amp; Operational Oversight</b></p><ul><li><b>
Budget Management:</b> Oversee the operational budget for assigned journals, including salaries, travel, supplies, and awards.</li><li><b>
Logistics &amp; Events:</b> Plan and host board dinners and meetings, managing venue sourcing, menus, and travel logistics for the EiC and staff.</li><li><b>
Award Administration:</b> Coordinate annual &quot;Best Paper&quot; awards, managing the nomination and voting processes over several months.</li></ul><p><b>
4. Digital Presence &amp; Communications</b></p><ul><li><b>
Social Media &amp; Web:</b> Maintain journal social media accounts, post weekly updates, and coordinate with authors and Science Communications Editors.</li><li><b>
Promotion:</b> Work with IEEE Publishing to unlock specific articles for promotion and link papers to relevant conference programs (e.g., ICRA, IROS).</li></ul><p><b>
5. Executive Director &amp; Society Support</b></p><ul><li><b>
Special Projects:</b> Assist the RAS Executive Director with research, information requests, and the development of new society initiatives.</li><li><b>
Governance Support:</b> Arrange committee meetings, schedule calls, and prepare correspondence on behalf of society leadership.</li><li><b>
Flexibility:</b> Perform additional administrative or strategic tasks as requested by the Executive Director to support the broader goals of the Robotics and Automation Society.</li></ul></div><p></p><div><b><br>
Qualifications</b><div>

Education:</b> Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a curriculum stressing excellence in research, writing, and communication.</li><li><b>
Experience:</b> 5+ years of business experience, ideally in technical program management, scholarly publishing, or non-profit administration.</li><li><b>

<p></p><div><div><p><b>Job Summary</b><br>
The incumbent, under the management of the Senior Product Manager, Corporate Markets, will serve as a Day-to-day operational manager of the research, development, maintenance, support, and delivery of the platform for the IEEE DiscoveryPoint services (IDP), IDP for Communications and IDP for Semiconductors.. In addition, the incumbent will be the Subject Matter Expert for content selection, curation and creation for IDP for Communications.<br>
The role is central in development and execution of IDP content and platform development plans, including maintaining and enhancing content throughout the products, generation and sharing of customer and end-user recommendations and insight, support of IDP platform roadmap development and delivery, support of Sales, CSM, Product Launch and Engagement, and Customer Operations functions to content and platform queries, and day to day activities that support IDPC and IDPS and ensure they deliver results that meet customer requirements and drive new IEEE revenue.<br>
The incumbent will be working individually and with stakeholders (including the Corporate Product Manager and the IDPS Product, Content Creation, and Curation Consultant) to scope, specify and deliver new or updated content and platform functionality components, assessment and selection of target third-party, licensed, and IEEE content for inclusion, and supporting other product initiatives as decided. The position works closely with the Corporate Product Managers as well as customers, the Product Launch and Engagement team, Sales, CSM, Customer Operations, external platform vendor, and other teams in the IDPs' support and, as determined, the scoping of new IDPx products in the portfolio.<b> The Platform Manager's role can be based in IEEE's offices or open to fully remote working.</b><br>

<b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><br>

Responsible to work with stakeholders to assess, maintain, and manage IDP quality and positioning.</li><li>
Support decision-making and execution around IDPC&rsquo;s continued content development based on the individual&rsquo;s subject matter knowledge, end-user research and insight, and knowledge management experience and expertise</li><li>
Work with the Corporate Product Manager and Senior Product Manager, evaluation and assessment of IDP platform functionalities and support in development and launch of enhanced versions of the platform</li><li>
Work with the IDPS Product, Content Creation, and Curation Consultant for IDPS Information gap assessment and identifying potential content improvements for the products</li><li>
Creates and maintains development of IDPC product Dashboards</li><li>
Manages and maintains selection and record creation of third-party eLearning resources, News and Blog sources for inclusion in IDPC</li><li>
Identification and delivery of IDPC Content Updates</li><li>
Maintenance of IDPC Thesaurus and related search enhancements</li><li>
Maintenance and delivery of end-user-ready briefing materials which describe the scope of IEEE and other resources included or linked from IDPC and IDPS</li><li>
Sales and related customer/trialist support, other editorial and product support and enhancement for IDP as requested</li><li>
Work with the Corporate Product Manager, requirements creation, evaluation and testing of proposed, new, and changed IDP platform functionalities</li><li>
Identification and analysis of IDP platform and content specifications working with the IDP platform vendor</li><li>
Maintaining relationships with IEEE colleagues, volunteers, and partners to coordinate and support the process of evaluating new business ideas and integrate IDP customer needs into this process</li><li>
With direction from the Senior Product Manager and others, keeping track of IDP competitive intelligence, including emerging competitive news from society/commercial publishers and information aggregators</li><li>
Working with the Product Launch and Engagement team and others to define, create, refine, expand, and promote value propositions for the IDP products, driving growth and revenue for the business. Resources can include slide decks, video scripts or other materials that cover use-cases, content, functionality, or features.</li></ul><p><b>
