In Charge Electrical Services is seeking a <b>Staff Accountant</b> to join our Corporate Accounting team in Austin, TX. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this is a junior-level accounting role focused on the day-to-day accuracy of the company's financial records. The ideal candidate has solid foundational accounting skills, a working knowledge of US GAAP, and the discipline to thrive in a full-time, fast-paced, in-office environment. Key Responsibilities</b></h3><div><b><br>
General Ledger &amp; Journal Entries</b></div><ul>
<li>Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and in accordance with US GAAP</li>
<li>Maintain supporting documentation for all entries to ensure a clean and audit-ready general ledger</li>
<li>Assist with recurring and month-end accrual entries</li>
</ul><div><b>Account Reconciliations</b></div><ul>
<li>Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts</li>
<li>Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner</li>
<li>Escalate unresolved discrepancies to the Controller with appropriate documentation</li>
</ul><div><b>Fixed Assets and Inventory</b></div><ul>
<li>Maintain fixed asset schedules and asset details across multiple subsidiaries.</li>
<li>Work with the fleet manager to ensure all transactions are accounted for.</li>
<li>Assist with inventory adjustments and identify and work with branches to resolve inventory discrepancies</li>
</ul><div><b>Month-End &amp; Year-End Close</b></div><ul>
<li>Support the monthly close process by completing assigned tasks within established deadlines</li>
<li>Assist the Controller in preparing close schedules and tracking the status of outstanding items</li>
<li>Support year-end close and assist in preparing schedules for the external audit and tax preparation</li>
</ul><div><b>Financial Reporting &amp; Other Duties</b></div><ul>
<li>Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedules</li>
<li>Generate, analyze and distribute internal reports on a weekly and monthly basis</li>
<li>Maintain organized accounting files and records consistent with company policy</li>
<li>Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as directed by the Controller or CFO</li>
<li>Act as a point of support for our operations, HR, and branch staff across multiple states as needed</li></ul><div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Qualifications</b></h3><div><b><br>
Required</b></div><ul>
<li><b>Bachelor's degree in Accounting</b></li>
<li><b>Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience</b></li>
<li>Intermediate understanding of US GAAP, including accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet management</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations independently</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data organization)</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines</li>
<li>Professional written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to work on-site full-time at our Austin, TX corporate office (northwest side of town).</li>
</ul><div><b>Preferred</b></div><ul>
<li>Experience with Oracle NetSuite (ERP)</li>
<li>Prior experience in a service-based or multi-location business environment</li>
<li>Familiarity with multi-state accounting operations</li></ul><div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Compensation and Benefits</b></h3><div><br>
In Charge Electrical Services offers a straightforward and competitive compensation package:</div><ul>
<li><b>Base Salary</b>: $55,000 &ndash; $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)</li>
