This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while mentoring junior staff and maintaining a vibrant, energetic kitchen atmosphere.Duties<ul><li>Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen line, ensuring smooth operations during service hours</li><li>Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards</li><li>Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and sanitation practices to maintain compliance with health regulations</li><li>Supervise food production processes including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques to ensure quality and consistency</li><li>Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, knives, and other culinary tools</li><li>Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials that align with culinary standards</li><li>Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste</li><li>Train and mentor team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards</li><li>Ensure high-volume production meets customer expectations while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Collaborate with the dietary department when necessary to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience as a line cook or chef in a high-volume restaurant or catering setting</li><li>Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures</li><li>Demonstrated ability in food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly</li><li>Excellent knife skills with attention to detail in recipe adherence and presentation</li><li>Prior leadership experience in a culinary environment preferred; ability to supervise and motivate team members</li><li>Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently</li><li>Experience working in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly desirable</li><li>Knowledge of dietary aide procedures or dietary department experience is a plus</li><li>Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining quality standards and excellent service delivery</li></ul>Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills make a difference!
