Summary</h2>
The Public Safety Officer patrols all areas of their assigned location in all weather conditions. Patrols are conducted on foot or in a variety of vehicles. Patrol areas include hospitals, business occupancy areas, and other areas as assigned. Efficiently maintains a safe and secure environment. Provides assistance to visitors, patients, employees and others with general, Public Safety, and safety issues. Immediately responds to all emergency and disaster situations. Assists patient care staff as required. The Officer follows broad instructions and operates within the guidelines of established System policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws in carrying out duties. Maintains a high code of ethics, moral conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism. Also, maintains a flexible schedule and is able to respond to any Lee Health location. Requirements</h2>

License:Valid Florida drivers license within 30 days of employment. Class D Security License from FL Dept. of Agriculture &amp; Consumer Services; need state issued license or proof of application (state issued acknowledgement card) within first 30 days of employment. Proof of State issued license to be provided within 90 days. Must be eligible to obtain a Class G license. All license/certification must be current and active at all times.
Other:Basic computer skills such as typing, using Public Safety software programs, and writing concise detailed reports with proper spelling and grammar. Requirements</h2>
Education: Bachelors Degree in the prospective health care field required.
Experience: Two years of experience in his or her health care field, including in the care of the asthma and COPD patient.
Certifications: Certified Asthma Educator through the National Board for Respiratory Care- AE-C required . BLS certification required. Completion and passing of the Pulmonary Disease Educator Course is required within three months from the date of hire through the American Association for Respiratory Care.
License: Must have a license in one of the following health care fields: Respiratory Therapy (RRT) or Nursing (RN) through the Florida Department of Health.
