 North Alabama Medical Center, opened its doors in 2018, as the replacement facility for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, in Florence, Alabama. North Alabama Medical Center serves as a regional facility with more than 200 physicians on staff who represent more than 42 specialty areas of medicine.
 
 
 Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment dedicated to delivering timely, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of emergent conditions. The team prioritizes rapid assessment, critical thinking, and coordinated interventions to ensure optimal outcomes. This collaborative setting offers staff the opportunity to strengthen clinical skills while providing compassionate, high-quality care when patients need it most.
 
 
 
 How You'll Contribute
 
 
 
 A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) who excels in this role:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Performs basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
 </li>
 <li>
 Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manages the tech desk and supports nursing/physician staff and overall department throughput.
 </li>
 <li>
 Documents care and activities per unit standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other duties as assigned; participates in performance improvement and required education.

 What We're Looking For
 
 
 
 Requires Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

 High School diploma preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 SRNA or EMT preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
 
 
 </li>
