Job DescriptionCOMMERCIAL FRONT LOAD DRIVER - REFUSE AND RECYCLEDue to continued growth, Local Waste Services is in immediate need of an experienced Commercial Front Load Driver.Commercial Front Load Drivers safely operate heavy-duty trucks with a front-load hydraulic lift attachment. Drivers are responsible for promptly and professionally collecting and hauling waste on assigned routes across central Ohio. Once loaded to legal capacity, drivers will then haul material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility. Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and experienced Front Load and Roll-off Driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting waste, materials, or equipment to designated locations while ensuring efficient loading and unloading processes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical knowledge, and professional driving skills to support our logistics operations.Duties<ul><li>Operate front loader or roll-off trucks with precision and adherence to safety protocols</li><li>Safely transport loads to and from specified destinations while complying with traffic laws and company policies</li><li>Conduct routine inspections of vehicles before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning and safety standards</li><li>Assist with maintenance or minor repairs as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues</li><li>Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections</li><li>Ensure proper securing of loads during transit to prevent accidents or spillage</li><li>Follow all safety procedures related to heavy lifting and operating large commercial vehicles</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Valid commercial driver&rsquo;s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the truck types operated</li><li>Proven experience driving front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds</li><li>Mechanical knowledge related to heavy-duty trucks and equipment maintenance</li><li>Experience in load &amp; unload operations using manual or mechanical means</li><li>Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently</li><li>Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred</li><li>Knowledge of safety regulations applicable to commercial trucking and waste management operations</li><li>Delivery driver experience is a plus but not mandatory</li><li>Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail</li><li>Physical stamina for long hours of driving and manual labor tasks</li></ul>This position offers an opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on safety and efficiency to contribute significantly to our logistics team.Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Do you have a clean driving record?</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>CDL driving: 5 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>CDL with DOT physical (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Columbia, SC 29209 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
