<div>Community Partner Description: South Lorain Public Library is part of the Lorain Library System. There is a Food Literacy program located at this location and an urban farm on the premises. The focus of this urban farm is to provide quality local produce to the community.
Position Title: South Lorain Library Food Justice Intern

Duration: Starting in April 2026 through August 2026 Schedule: Part time 10-15 hours/week &ndash; not to exceed 230 hours total Compensation: $15/hour - position is grant-funded through Lorain County Community College.
Overview: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our local library urban farm. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices, and supporting food justice on the farm.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Farm and Crop Maintenance: Helping the farm manager with tasks such as: planting, cultivation, watering, weeding, and harvest. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure a well-functioning farm environment.
</li></ul><ul><li>Operations assistance: Aid in maintaining volunteer, intern, staff, and maintenance scheduling and record keeping. Participate in data collection activities, such as monitoring crop growth, recording weather conditions, maintaining accurate records of farm activities, and documenting the food justice impact of the local community.
</li></ul><ul><li>Team Collaboration: Work closely with farm team manager and staff to ensure efficient and effective operations. Collaborate on various tasks and projects as needed.</li></ul></div>

South Lorain Library Food Justice Intern

<div>The Engineering, Business and Information Technologies Division at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused part-time Staff Associate to support the administrative functions and daily operations of the division. The Staff Associate will perform a variety of office, clerical, and project-based tasks while interacting regularly with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Screening and directing phone calls; greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.
</li><li>Sorting and distributing mail and maintaining general office organization.
</li><li>Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, marketing materials, and other documents.
</li><li>Organizing and maintaining office files and records; recording proceedings of meetings.
</li><li>Assisting with scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
</li><li>Utilizing administrative and office software to produce, update, and maintain college records.
</li><li>Assisting with the coordination and implementation of special projects.
</li><li>Supporting the development of office procedures and guidelines as requested.
</li><li>Performing routine support tasks with general direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.
</li><li>Performing other related duties as assigned.

The incumbent selected will work up to 25 hours per week and report to the Dean of Engineering, Business and Information Technologies. This position is on-campus and will be scheduled during weekday hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.</div>
 <div>Required Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.
</li><li>At least one year of experience in an office setting.
</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and familiarity with standard office equipment and general office procedures.
</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and perform tasks independently.
</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
</li>Ability to learn quickly and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

<ul><li>Associate degree.
</li><li>Experience working in an academic or higher-education office environment.
</li>Experience with PeopleSoft.
