Clerical:
<ul><li>Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel and routes Epic Messages to nursing and provider as appropriate.</li><li>
Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.</li><li>
Answers questions about organization, physicians, and available services, providing callers with address, directions, and other information as appropriate.</li><li>
Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.</li><li>
Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.</li><li>
Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications.</li><li>
Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.</li><li>
Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes.</li><li>
Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.</li><li>
Depending on clinic assignment, may perform phlebotomy-specimen collection duties.</li><li>

Epic Scheduling and Registration<ul><li>
Schedules patient appointments.</li><li>
Responsible for EMR-Electronic Medical Records registration -check-in processes in Epic.</li><li>
Loads, verifies and updates patient demographics.</li><li>
Scans, loads and verifies insurance coverage.</li><li>
Collects signed HIPAA and Consent for Treatment documents, updates the interactive face sheet and sends documents to Medical Records for scanning.</li><li>
Reviews all Alerts in Epic and refers patient to a PFC when necessary.</li><li>
Collects co-payments and other self-pay obligations when required and post in Epic when registering patient.</li><li>
Provides patient with an estimated self-pay obligation when appropriate.</li><li>
Performs cashiering functions/online payment posting within Epic.</li><li>
Processes payments and deposits by adhering to the system's Cash Handling Policy.</li><li>
Completes daily closing report and balances their individual cash drawer at the end of each day.</li><li>
Performs petty cash count in and out daily and records appropriately.</li></ul><ul><li>
Assist patients with MyChart signup and activation.</li><li>
Replies to MyChart messages in a timely manner, closing messages when complete.</li><li>
Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality per MHS policies.</li><li>
Preps Routes daily for upcoming appointments for frontline registration.</li></ul><ul><li>
Reviews daily work queues and corrects identified patient registration errors.</li><li>
Utilizes Epic waitlists based on provider preference.</li><li>
Reviews and updates no-shows and cancellations for the day.</li><li>
Preps and Pre-registers patients for upcoming appointments.</li><li>
Processes referrals and pre-certifications when required.</li><li>
May be assigned to update and maintain physician scheduling protocols.</li><li>

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous medical reception experience required.
Internal Receptionist 2 candidates must have at least two years&rsquo; experience in a Receptionist 1 position with Mercyhealth or be cross trained in 3 or more clinic departments/locations.

Follows and administers all Mercyhealth financial policies and guidelines. In-depth knowledge of collection laws, an understanding of statement cycles, and the bad debt process.</li><li>
Maintains a thorough knowledge base of the registration and cash drawer process.</li><li>

Financial Resource Specialist

<div>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV's, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc.</li><li>
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.</li><li>
Observes all isolation procedures and Infect Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens.</li><li>
Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount of supplies. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens.</li><li>
Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer.</li><li>
Hangs cubicles/drapes according to department policy.</li><li>
Special project assignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing, etc.), and post informational signs.</li><li>
Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt.</li><li>
Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles when needed. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt. Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area.</li><li>
Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identify various bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPIC and removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager call from supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems to supervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available.</li><li>
Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and places in proper containers/areas.</li><li>
Adheres to all applicable regulations and standards.</li><li>
Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of all waste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOT Certification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste. Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt.</li></ul>

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
<ul><li>Effectively performs scheduled floor cleaning which includes stripping, scrubbing, finishing, shampooing, and extracting in a timely manner (includes working other shifts for annual floor maintenance) following all unit specific guidelines giving attention to detailed areas such as baseboards, corners, carpet stains, etc. Clean equipment after use.</li><li>Performs spot cleaning of carpets and carpet bonneting, extraction of carpet, burnishing, and wet/dry vacuum. Operates, understands, and maintains all equipment (i.e. extractors, vacuums, wet vac, burnisher, flatbed, etc.) in a safe and professional manner. Clean equipment after use and ensure batteries are charged.</li></ul></div>

Environmental Services Technician

This role supports hospital security operations by monitoring alarms, surveillance systems, and incoming emergency and routine calls. The position requires strong multitasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to prioritize incidents, communicate important information, and remain calm during stressful situations. The dispatcher also helps train new staff and maintains knowledge of hospital and clinic locations to coordinate security responses effectively.

The Dispatcher will effectively prioritize responses to a wide variety of routine, and emergency calls requiring various problem-solving techniques, judgment, and verbal de-escalation.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
