Provides initial investigation and documentation of incidents of unusual circumstances reported by Mercyhealth personnel, visitors, physicians, or patients.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Orient and train security staff at respective sites of responsibility as needed and complete training documents.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>
 Monitors the Mercyhealth environment using electronic security equipment (CCTV, Alarms, etc.) as applicable.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Successful completion of all department required training such as Level 3 TACT training, handcuffing, OC spray, ASP baton, and physical control tactics training, etc. required within 12 months for new hires. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis.

Follows and administers all Mercyhealth financial policies and guidelines. In-depth knowledge of collection laws, an understanding of statement cycles, and the bad debt process.</li><li>
Maintains a thorough knowledge base of the registration and cash drawer process.</li><li>
Follows all necessary frontline workflows in regard to payment posting, cash drawer balancing and adheres to all cash compliance policies.</li><li>
Researches and performs audits on patient accounts to determine where balances are due, from third party payers or patient responsibility.</li><li>
Meets with patients in person or via telephone to counsel patients/customers on billing concerns, account balances, services costs/estimates, and various insurance resources.</li><li>

Financial Resource Specialist

<div>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV's, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc.</li><li>
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.</li><li>
Observes all isolation procedures and Infect Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens.</li><li>
Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount of supplies. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens.</li><li>
Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer.</li><li>
Hangs cubicles/drapes according to department policy.</li><li>
Special project assignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing, etc.), and post informational signs.</li><li>
Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt.</li><li>
Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles when needed. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt. Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area.</li><li>
Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identify various bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPIC and removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager call from supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems to supervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available.</li><li>
Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and places in proper containers/areas.</li><li>
Adheres to all applicable regulations and standards.</li><li>
Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of all waste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOT Certification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste. Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt.</li></ul>

Operates, understands, and maintains all equipment (i.e. extractors, vacuums, wet vac, burnisher, flatbed, etc.) in a safe and professional manner. Clean equipment after use and ensure batteries are charged.</li></ul></div>

<div>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient with Hospital Information System-HIS and Laboratory Information Systems<ul><li>-LIS to release orders or register patients as needed.</li><li>
Performs patient registration, payment collection, data entry of demographic and insurance information and other procedures as necessary to support efficient sample processing.</li><li>
Transfers patient test requests from scripts, requisitions, and verbal orders into the HIS and laboratory computer systems.
</li><li>Answers and screen telephone calls in a professional and helpful manner.</li><li>
Resolve unusual or unclear test orders by contacting the physician, nurse, reference laboratory and documents actions taken. Refer all unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor.</li><li>
