<p>Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs.</p>
<p>Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses (including MCC-Online) on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River, located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; and MCC-Penn Valley, located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri.</p>
<p>MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well.</p><br>

<p></p><div><p>Incumbents provide basic information and services to students and prospective students regarding enrollment process, financial aid, career services, disability support, records and transcripts, or counseling, and perform clerical duties.</p></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Functions</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Provide information to prospective and current students, to include information on admissions, academic requirements and processes, financial aid, college offerings and services, and/or registration processes</li><li>
Provide assistance to students and other individuals; work may involve responding to general inquiries via phone, email, or in person; distributing supplies and resources; providing referrals; directing calls to appropriate personnel/departments; giving campus tours; assisting students with completing documentation; reviewing and collecting documentation; and processing payments</li><li>
Maintain records, call sheets, forms, spreadsheets, and training and other documentation; enter and track student data related to test scores, activities, status, financial aid, scholarships, and other financial, general, and confidential information</li><li>
Perform basic clerical duties to include maintaining supplies, reserving rooms, processing correspondence, preparing and distributing materials packets, and maintaining the calendar and scheduling appointments for all counselors in the department, taking into account their workload, other college committees and responsibilities, individual priorities and preferences</li><li>
Assist department staff with basic administrative duties, to include setting up and reserving rooms, distributing promotional materials, sending out invitations and reminders, registering students, and monitoring attendance, during special events and to facilitate related departmental operations</li><li>
Highlight department events and programming using displays in campus showcase and bulletin boards by creating display and bulletin board items and other marketing materials in various formats</li><li>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Coordinate all operations related to the acquisition of District-wide furnishings; work may involve assigning work to staff; ensuring process and operational efficiency; and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures</li><li>
Facilitate and oversee competitive solicitation processes such as quotes, bids, RFP's &amp; RFQ's through the award recommendation/interview processes; collaborate with District-wide personnel in developing purchase specifications; and makes recommendations for awards; work may involve researching, compiling, and analyzing procurement- and financial-related information</li><li>
Administer District-wide procurement cards; work may involve troubleshooting user accounts, reporting fraudulent activity, ordering new/replacement cards, closing cards, adjusting spending limits, and reconciling monthly statements</li><li>
Maintain purchase order systems; work may involve approving, changing, and/or closing orders; reopening or closing purchase orders; and reviewing budgetary information</li><li>
Prepare and maintain reports, records, forms, and other documentation for review and approval by Board of Trustees, and maintain and update purchasing databases and websites, to ensure timely and accurate documentation, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.</li><li>
Coordinate with and/or serves as a liaison to staff, faculty, vendors, the legal department, and other internal/external staff, departments, and/or agencies to communicate information, resolve issues, and facilitate departmental operations</li><li>
Conduct extensive research for projects, includes collecting and providing examples for solicitation development; and finding new vendors to register to do business with MCC</li><li>
Attend outreach events relating to vendors and provide and assist them in registering and working with the College</li><li>
Coordinate district-wide purchasing activities and collaborate with district personnel to research and develop specifications/scope of work for solicitations</li><li>
Collaborate with internal and external constituencies and Legal to draft and execute contracts</li><li>
Review, research and approve requisitions through the financial system</li><li>
Oversee process for vendors to register with MCC and submit bids electronically</li><li>
Facilitate processing of purchase orders including order review and approval, changes and closes purchase orders, and budgets check</li><li>
Maintain and update Purchasing website</li><li>
