Under the direction of the Respiratory Care Management Staff and the Respiratory Care Medical Director performs pulmonary diagnostic studies, and maintains equipment and records related to the Pulmonary Function Lab
</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Core Job Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Coordinate and perform all daily testing activities and ensure that test results meet ATS criteria</li>
<li>Assist Department Secretary with report processing as required to include: file maintenance and test result distribution</li>
<li>Complete all &ldquo;charge posting&rdquo; for tests completed</li>
<li>Assist Department Medical Director with PFT in servicing for the Family Practice Residency Program.</li>
<li>Collect and tabulate data for the Department Quality Improvement Plan</li>
<li>Perform duties as described in the Registered Respiratory Therapist job description</li>
<li>Assures safe operation and maintenance of equipment, materials and resources to complete the work within the time assigned</li>
<li>Participates in CQI and TQM concepts and practices</li>
<li>Assist in the orientation of new staff</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required</li>

REQUIRED:</b>
</p><ul><li>Associate Degree in Respiratory Care</li>
<li>3-5 years acute care clinical experience</li>
<li>C.R.T. or R.R.T. and C.P.F.T. from the National Board for Respiratory Care</li>
<li>Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the NYS Department of Education
</li><li>B.L.S. Certification</li>

PFT Lab Technologist - Per Diem - Days

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Services Medical Director and Clinical Coordinator, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician&rsquo;s orders, department policies and procedures.</p>
</div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Core Job Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Complete physician prescribed respiratory care modalities while demonstrating a conscientious approach in their administration to the patient</li>
<li>Verify correct and appropriate orders and takes action to clarify any discrepancies. Consistently responds to outcome of therapy and pursues any necessary changes to provide the most accurate drug dosage delivery device</li>
<li>Gather appropriate information for a basis for evaluation, recommendations and treatments</li>
<li>Document all relative information of patient assessments/treatments/education, on the appropriate form in a legible and complete manner.
</li><li>Thoroughly instruct patients and uses patient handouts when appropriate</li>
<li>Assure respiratory equipment is set up correctly and operating properly. Alerts lead tech or supervisor of any discrepancies or questions. Follows up on lost or broken equipment with appropriate explanation.</li>
<li>Demonstrate the ability to interpret ABG values and communicates values to physicians making suggestions for improvement.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required.</li>
