Job Responsibility

3.Develops new experimental protocols, learns new experimental procedures as necessary. 
4.Responsible for the collection of data and may contribute to the analysis and interpretation of research data. 
5.Performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, completing correspondence, database maintenance, maintaining records, charts, etc. 
6.Participates in laboratory meetings and journal
 
clubs as appropriate.

 Performs an age specific plan of care for designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments. Uses leadership skills/clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.

 Job Qualification
 
 
 Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
 
 
 Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
 
 
 Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date.
 
 
 Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required,
 
 
 plus specialized certifications as needed.

Manages, plans, organizes and evaluates staff and activities of clinical research projects. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide clinical research activities for patients and Investigators. Oversees research staff and patient care delivery. Coordinates and implements research projects with Investigators to assure research projects are carried out as approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Job Responsibility

<ul><li>Provides leadership to Clinical Research team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.</li>
<li>Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.</li>
<li>Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.</li>
<li>Collaborates with Principal Investigator (PI) in planning, preparation of orders and implementation of protocols; reviews protocols and prepares an evaluation of nursing resource requirements; assigns nurses to specific protocols.</li>
<li>Develops and implements clinical educational programs to foster the educational development of clinical research team; trains research staff and oversees compliance with regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Manages and evaluates patient&rsquo;s therapeutic needs through physical assessment and interpretation of diagnostic tests in consultation and collaboration with the PI, co-investigators, research nurses and other health care team members.</li>
<li>Oversees patient care delivery to maximize safety and comfort; sets-up educational workshops for patients and families; provides on-call coverage for patient concerns/complications.</li>
<li>Collaborates with PI in overseeing all phases of grant submission to funding agencies and adherence to clinical trial agreement/study budgets, as required; oversees investigational agent availability and accountability.</li>
<li>Ensures accuracy, usefulness and completeness of all hospital-specific and/or department/division manuals and references.</li>
<li>Collaborates with PI and acts as a liaison between the FDA and drug companies on related issues; discusses protocol changes with PI, as necessary.</li>
<li>Facilitates clinical research studies as approved by the IRB; provides technical and functional expertise in the area of research studies.</li>
