Journey&rsquo;s End Marina has been in Rockland, Maine for over 30 years. The parent company, O&rsquo;Hara Corporation, has been in the maritime industry for over 100 years, operating fishing boats around the country. Starting in Boston as &ldquo;Francis J. O&rsquo;Hara and Son&rsquo;s&rdquo;. 
In the 1990&rsquo;s, the fishing industry declined on the East coast and the fishing boats moved west which left acres of waterfront property vacant. Fearing the loss of Rockland&rsquo;s historic working waterfront O&rsquo;Hara Corporation purchased the unused processing plants. This marked the beginning of a vision that has become Journey&rsquo;s End Marina. A first-class marina, for all boating needs. Journeys End Marina is looking for an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic for a full-time year-around position within our Commercial division. Successful candidate must be organized, have strong mechanical and people skills. Able to operate in an environment where the customers want and expect quality work on a timely basis. Marine industry and boating experience are essential. Candidate must understand boat operating systems for plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating and cooling. Computer skills and own tools are a strong plus. 
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. 
Education and Experience
<ul><li>Highschool or GED diploma preferred but not required.
</li><li>Excellent verbal communication skills
</li><li>Computer skills required
</li><li>Willingness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
</li><li>Knowledge of marine mechanical &amp; electrical systems
</li><li>ABYC accreditation preferred.
</li><li>Passionate about having outstanding customer interactions.
</li><li>Must be authorized to work in the US.
</li></ul>Job Summary

</li><li>Working outside in all weather conditions
</li><li>Entering your work time in our marina software
</li><li>Knowledge and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.

</li></ul>Essential Functions
<ul><li>Understand and follow instructions, directions, and safety rules in English.
</li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk and hear; handle, or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
</li><li>Ability to lift/carry at least 50 pounds.</li>
