As a premier transcript provider, Opus 2 works exclusively with industry&rsquo;s leading court reporters to capture the highest quality transcript of the spoken word in hearings, trials, arbitrations, inquiries and more. We are looking for a Writer to join our growing company in the Middle East, working alongside independent editors and the Opus 2 team.
</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Primary responsibilities</b></h3><ul>
<li>Have technical knowledge of computer-aided translation (CAT) software, Total Eclipse or Case Catalyst</li>
<li>Together with the Editor, provide an accurate transcript of the verbatim record of legal proceedings;
</li><li>Write transcripts in Total Eclipse and/or Case Catalyst, on a realtime or delayed basis by reference to the audio, ensuring that they are appropriately formatted, names and terms are spelled correctly, sentences are properly punctuated and any errors are rectified;
</li><li>Assisting, where necessary, with the processing of the final transcript at the end of the day including the provision of ASCII files;</li>
<li>Amending transcripts and preparing errata sheets in accordance with client instruction;</li>
<li>Filing up to date glossaries for all court reporting jobs.</li>
</ul><p><b>Requirements</b></p><ul>
<li>Prior experience as a court reporter.</li>
<li>Extensive English vocabulary and excellent grammar;</li>
<li>Minimum of 200WPM;
</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail with a low tolerance for errors;</li>
<li>Professional, courteous and confident communicator who can build a rapport with judges, lawyers and colleagues;</li>
<li>Ability to work under pressure;</li>
<li>Proactive with good energy and a willingness to learn;</li>
<li>Flexible, team player.</li>

<li>Overtime work (after hours in the evening) may be required to complete transcripts on time;</li>
<li>Travel to the Middle East and surrounding areas may be required;</li>
