What you will do:</b></div><div>
Responsible for blood specimen collection by venipuncture and/or micro techniques for laboratory test procedures as requested. Responsible for the receiving, accessioning, and distribution of laboratory specimens. Responsible for the operation of POC instrumentation such as glucometers, CoaguCheck, etc. Must be in compliance with OSHA Blood-Born Pathogen Standards, accreditation and regulatory standards and HIPAA. Performs clerical duties as assigned.</div><div>

Preferred Education:</b></div><div>
Completion of phlebotomy training via an educational program for PBT, MA, or OJT with a minimum of 3 months experience.</div>

Preferred Skills:</b><br>
Previous experience with POC instrumentation</div><div>

Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:</b><br>
Licensure, certification or registry with one of the phlebotomy certifying agencies such as ASCP, ASPT, etc.</div><div><br>

Preferred Experience:</b><br>
Completion of a phlebotomy training program or a minimum of 3-months experience for OJT</div></div>

What you will do:
</b></div><div>Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic and advanced nursing care for an assigned group of patients based upon competence and experience. Responsibilities will include basic PCT duties, such as routing personal care, changing linens, vital signs, transport, ambulation, etc. The PCT is an essential part of the care team. The PCT helps support emotional and physical needs of patients. The ideal applicant would demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and ability to multitask. The PCT is a positive role model and promotes teamwork.</div><div><div><b>
Required Education:</b></div><div>
Ability to read, write and do simple math. Ability to follow instructions.</div></div><div><b>
Preferred Education:</b><br>
High School diploma, GED/equivalent<br>

<b>Required Skills:</b><br>
Good communication skills. Basic computer skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.<br>

BLS; Nurses Aid certification, completion of one-year formal RN coursework (e.g. one year of AND or junior year of BSN program) or one year of in hospital PCT experience</div><div><b>
