The On-Call Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the provision of hospice care. They possess extensive nursing experience, particularly in community health education and practice. This professional nurse is accountable for directing the immediate services required to address the unique needs of individuals and families in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities<ul>
<li>
Meeting the healthcare needs of hospice patients by completing as needed and routine visits</li>
<li>Working closely with the Hospice team, physicians and community partners in order to deliver optimal care.</li>
<li>Triaging any emergent needs and collaborating with physicians to provide comfort and quality care to each patient.</li>
<li>Communicating with medical professionals, the hospice team and others.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records</li>
<li>Providing services in accordance with agency policies and regulations that define scope of practice.</li>
<li>Participating in in-service programs</li>
<li>Demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills</li>
</ul>
Requirements<ul>
<li>
Hospice experience preferred.</li>
<li>Kansas Nursing License or Compact</li>
<li>Strong organizational and self-management skills</li>
<li>Strong and compassionate customer service skills</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li>

<li>Provide education to patients/family members regarding the process, plan of care, and offers guidance with healthcare decisions.</li>

<li>Coordinate hospice care by working with other team members as well as with the patients/family members to ensure needs are met.</li>
<li>Conducts initial as well as on-going comprehensive assessments.</li>
<li>Preform evaluations for hospice care along with informational visits.</li>

The Hospice ADON has the responsibility of overseeing the nursing staff, nursing activities, and patient care, while also ensuring that nursing activities adhere to federal, state, and local standards. An effective ADON should demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, attentiveness, and expertise in delivering top-notch care to patients. Additionally, you will be required to provide support to both the nursing staff and the director of nursing, while maintaining a compassionate approach towards the patients.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">

<li>Must be a graduate from nursing school</li>
<li>Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of MO.
</li><li>Minimum 1-2 years of experience with proven hospice fieldwork experience.</li>
<li>Market and deal tactfully with clients and the community</li>
<li>Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards</li>
<li>Good communication, both verbal and written</li>
<li>Demonstrate self-confidence, a positive attitude, and maintain commitment and enthusiasm for goal achievement</li>
