PURPOSE OF POSITION: Works as a Part-time Caregiver to provide children with developmentally appropriate activities in a quality early childhood program that offers a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children and families. The Part-time Caregiver Performance Standard explains in detail the essential duties and responsibilities of this position and must be used as an integral part of this Job Description.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:
Work as Part-Time Caregiver Trainee to:<ul><li>
Learn to support a warm, secure, affectionate, social-emotional climate for young children. (Note: Lifting and holding children is necessary.)</li><li>
Learn to follow daily schedules and plans that support the physical, social, and cognitive growth of young children.</li><li>
Follow rules and procedures that establish and maintain a safe and healthy classroom and outside environment.</li><li>
Learn to be an engaged partner with families.</li><li>
Commit to professionalism and RCMA.</li><li>
Meet all RCMA funding and DCF requirements.</li></ul>
EDUCATION:<ul><li>
Proof of high school completion (or equivalent) is highly recommended.</li></ul>
After initial hire, the employee must complete mandatory childcare training (DCF 45 hours) as specified in the DCF Training Addendum and in accordance with Florida Statutes and funding source requirements to retain eligibility to be employed in this position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Member of the community being served and, when applicable, farmworker background.</li><li>
Possess a current certification in Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Pediatric First-Aid.</li></ul>

The Early Childhood Specialist provides guidance and direction for educational services and jointly, with the Center Coordinator, evaluates the job performance of the Infant Toddler Teacher Trainee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties below are not intended to cover all the duties to be performed:
Works as part of a teaching team to:<ul><li>
Learn to support a warm, secure, affectionate, social-emotional climate for young children. (Note: Lifting, touching and holding a child is necessary.)</li><li>
Learn to use the HighScope curriculum to plan environments, activities, and daily routines for young children</li><li>
Learn to observe, screen, and assess young children to provide support for on-going developmental progress and achievement of RCMA School Readiness goals.</li><li>
Learn about rules and procedures that establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment.</li><li>
Learn to be an engaged partner with families.</li><li>
Learn to support management of the classroom</li><li>
Learn to commit to professionalism and RCMA.</li><li>
Adherence to all RCMA funding and DCF requirements</li></ul>
EDUCATION: In order to meet the minimal education requirements, please provide:<ul><li>
High School Diploma obtained by an institution accredited and recognized by DOE, OR a High School Diploma obtained by a private school that is registered with DOE, OR a GED (NOTE: If a high school diploma is earned outside the U.S., it must be translated by someone who is: a member of the American Translators Association OR an approved credential evaluation agency approved by the Bureau of Educators Certification OR an accredited college/university.)</li></ul>
