CLASSIFICATION: Senior Fabrication Field Engineer
GRADE: Exempt; Regular, Full-Time
LOCATION: McKinley Climatic Lab, Eglin Air Force Base &ndash; On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The candidate works independently in nearly all cases with rare need to consult with higher level expertise or outside personnel on problems of exceptional difficulty. Accomplish work at a level of difficulty often associated with degreed engineers. Provides senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Provide senior level support for fabrication of complex test fixtures to precise specifications including research and analyzing data to determine feasibility of a design or application. Fabricate innovative components to be installed, operated, and maintained in systems and fixtures for climatic simulations. Design, fabricate, and install controls, machines, valves, pumps and other pieces of equipment in support of the operations throughout the facility. Provide field engineering support to plan, design, fabricate, modify and install test support fixtures or special unique tooling and prototype equipment.
GENERAL DUTIES:
<ul><li>Conduct engineering analysis needed to propose solutions, corrections, and improvements for operation and maintenance of plant equipment to include the interpretation of blueprints and piping schematics.</li>
<li>Perform field measurements on aircraft and other test items using precision instruments to engineer and fabricate tie-downs, restraints, and other specialty items.</li>
<li>Evaluate the effects of mechanical modifications on equipment performance. Understand structural loads, to calculate size requirements in the fabrication of hardware, and to understand. the principles of metallurgy.</li>
<li>Operate manual &amp; CNC machine shop equipment and machine metals to close tolerances.</li>
<li>Conduct field measurements on plant equipment, aircraft, supporting structural equipment, and a variety of test items when engineering drawings or blueprints may not be available.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot, repair, install, align, and calibrate refrigeration compressors, air compressors, water pumps, chemical processing pumps, torque converters, chain drives, gear boxes, electric motors, electric valves, pneumatic valves and other such equipment or subsystems used in the operation and maintenance of plant equipment.</li>
<li>Conduct and interpret vibration analyses performed on rotating equipment.</li>
<li>Provide technical specifications for procurement of components and subsystems to meet task requirements.</li>
<li>Provide technical oversight of MCL Machine shop team.</li>

</div><div>OTHER DUTIES: Other duties include the operation and maintenance of equipment, air make-up equipment, aircraft tie-down and exhaust ducting, and many other miscellaneous pieces of equipment throughout the facility. Perform sheet metal work and operating and maintaining all equipment. Conduct and interpret vibration analyses performed on rotating equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must have a detailed working knowledge of mechanical fabrication work as it relates to machining and industrial maintenance. This position requires 8 years of fabrication and/or machining experience. Associate Degree or Training certificates in engineering, machining, or industrial mechanics/millwright from trade schools, colleges, military, etc, or equivalent work experience is required. Must have experience in analysis, design, installation, operation, maintenance, evaluation/repair of mechanical devices, equipment, and systems. Candidate must have and maintain a forklift license.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or emergencies. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in temperature extremes from -65 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to lift loads as heavy as 75 pounds. Works at heights up to 70 feet in elevation from ladders or high reach equipment.

SENIOR FABRICATION FIELD ENGINEER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Successful candidates will be proficient in administering Local Area Networks (LAN) and possibly Secure Internet Protocol Networks (SIPRNET) equipment such as TACLANES and IPSEC Tunnels. You will implement new network operating systems hardware and software and develop Wide Area Network (WAN) operating procedures. This position will also configure, install, and maintain network systems to include the LAN/WAN. They will maintain an inventory of all network hardware and software and install, configure, and troubleshoot network and application server hardware, network operating system software, and other peripheral network appliances. They will also monitor operation of the LAN/WAN and ensure hardware and network operating software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met. They will provide support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions. They will perform system backups, and restoration as required.

A CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months. Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches is mandatory. Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge of Vlans, interior routing protocols, 802.1X, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds,PaloAlto FW's as well as network management and IP management is desired. Must be able to perform network maintenance as well as research and implement new systems. DoD Information Assurance experience a plus specifically in the areas of IAVA and STIG evaluation, network security, application and management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Senior General Maintenance Workers perform with minimum supervision as part of a maintenance crew. They may be required to be familiar with the use and maintenance of personal safety climbing accessories. Essential job functions may also include controlling range test areas and/or repairs to towers, involving replacement of cross-members, bolts, and other tower hardware. The position may require the ability to climb towers up to 300 feet in height.
GENERAL DUTIES:
<ul><li>Work is performed under minimal supervision and varies in the combination of trade practices that are performed in different work situations throughout the E-OMS contract.
</li><li>Performs a variety of tasks involved in the construction and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.
</li><li>Typical work assignments include the performance of visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of repair work.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Formal training, acquired through vocational certification or military service school training or a certified apprenticeship program, in at least one of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, concrete strength testing, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, small engine repair or painting, and 3 years of combined experience in at least two of the trades mentioned above or 5 years verifiable experience in at least two of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, or painting. The position may require the ability to climb towers up to 300 feet in height. Tower climbing experience may be required and if so, incumbents will be required to attend climbing school for certification and attend periodic training courses to remain certified. Must be fully proficient in the use of hand and power tools. The work requires an advanced application of skilled trade practices
