 The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful technical execution of high-value and complex projects, focusing on maintaining the quality and compliance of all technical deliverables. This role is instrumental in integrating multidisciplinary technical contributions, ensuring that all project requirements are met according to safety and industry standards. The Project Engineer plays a key role within the project team, supervising technical implementation and collaborating closely with other engineers and subcontractors to deliver on client expectations.

 Proposal Phase:
 <br/>
 <br/>

   Coordinate the technical assessment and feasibility for the proposal phase.
  </li>
  <li>
   Collect and integrate technical contributions to develop accurate proposals.
  </li>
  <li>
   Identify and quantify necessary skills, resources, and effort for proposal development.

 Technical Implementation:

   Ensure the technical delivery of projects meets content quality and respects project milestones.

   Oversee and manage all technical work related to project requirements.

   Monitor progress and make adjustments to technical plans to achieve project goals.

 Technical Team Coordination:

   Lead the project engineering team, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient execution.
  </li>
  <li>
   Collaborate with other engineers, technical teams, and subcontractors to maintain cohesive project execution.
  </li>

   Coordinate with the Discipline Manager for resource adjustments and reassignments as needed.

 Quality Control:

   Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure technical compliance with project standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   Enforce quality assurance processes and proactively address any deviations from project specifications.

 Compliance and Safety:

   Ensure adherence to all technical regulations, compliance protocols, and safety standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   Address compliance and safety concerns promptly to prevent delays or risks, with support from the Discipline Leader.

 Technical Documentation and Reporting:

   Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  </li>
  <li>
   Prepare or coordinate technical reports and presentations, validating accuracy before client distribution.

 Training and Mentorship:

   Provide on-the-job technical training and mentorship to junior engineers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Foster technical development within the team to ensure a high level of competence.

   Act as a bridge between technical teams, the Project Manager, and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication.

 Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  Qualifications

   6+ years of experience in technical projects; 1-5 years of experience managing projects using established project management disciplines and methodologies.
  </li>
  <li>
   Understanding of PM project controls (scheduling and cost control) and change management process.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficient in standard project management methodologies and techniques.
  </li>
  <li>
   Applies technical expertise in a broad field of knowledge for multiple applications and has demonstrated a full grasp of related disciplines.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency in quality control and assurance processes. Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in engineering projects.
  </li>
  <li>
   Demonstrated ability to manage technical aspects of high-value and large-scale projects.
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements specific to the project type (e.g., ISO, ANSI, IEC, depending on industry).
  </li>
  <li>
   Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (optional but advantageous for process improvement knowledge).
  </li>

   Strong analytical skills to evaluate technical challenges and provide effective solutions.

Mission</b></div>

This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met. Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.</div>

Key Accountabilities</b></div>
</div><div><ul><li>Review and approve hull structural drawings of ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship&rsquo;s conversions.</li>
<li>Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to structural design.</li>
<li>Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.</li>
<li>Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.</li>
<li>Oversee and manage day-to-day project elements, visit sites to take measurements.</li>
<li>Ensure correct and up-to-date data is used and complete documentation is submitted to officials and other day-to-day duties.</li>
<li>Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.).</li>
<li>Review progress reports and take appropriate action to ensure requirements are met.</li>
<li>Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks.</li>
<li>Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues.</li>
<li>Manage simple and complex projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.</li>
<li>Assess complex structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions.</li>
<li>Answer complex contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel.</li>

<ul><li>Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in hull design, shipbuilding, or marine engineering, with a focus on plan approval in a Class Society or shipbuilding environment.</li>
<li>Experience in the review and approval of hull structural designs, stability calculations, and material selection, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Practical experience working with international maritime standards (SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.) and Class Society regulations.</li>
<li>In-depth experience in the hull plan approval process, including structural integrity verification, load distribution, and strength calculations.</li>
</ul></li><li><div><b>Technical Skills:</b></div>
<ul><li>Advanced understanding of ship hull design principles, structural components, and materials used in hull construction.</li>
<li>Expertise in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and stability calculations for hull structures to ensure compliance with design codes and Class Society standards.</li>
<li>Proficiency in software tools commonly used in hull plan approval and structural analysis, such as AutoCAD, NAPA, ShipConstructor, or other naval architecture and engineering software.</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of materials used in hull construction, including steel grades, welding techniques, and corrosion protection methods.</li><br>
