Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Physical Therapist completes initial assessments, ongoing assessments and provides skilled therapeutic interventions to patients through the use of their educational knowledge, skill, and ability. This may involve outpatients, inpatients, pediatrics and off-site locations. Services the patients as a part of the entire continuum of professional care.
Essential Job Functions<ul><li>
Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information from various sources, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with specific goals. Responsible for ongoing assessment, efficiency of treatment plan and revisions of plan as needed.</li><li>
Provides direct therapy to patients daily following patient&rsquo;s plan of care and current standards of practice for Physical Therapy . Provides instruction in therapeutic procedures to patients and family.</li><li>
Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress. Documents all care provided, coordination of services, orders, goals, etc. in the patient&rsquo;s electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner. Provides timely co-signature for supervised physical therapy assistants, if applicable</li><li>
Maintains set level of productivity without jeopardizing quality. Delivers efficient and effective care to patients meeting and exceeding department standards.</li><li>
Maintains departmental policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, time off requests and timecard recording. This will include all necessary education and yearly compliance requirements.</li><li>
Supervises the physical therapist assistant&rsquo;s treatment interventions and professional growth.</li><li>
May precept in the direction and evaluation of clinical experience / internship of students from participating colleges or universities.</li><li>
Promotes rehabilitation services and wellness center activities with patients, family and caregivers, if applicable.</li><li>
Coordinates with other disciplines, agencies/companies, families, etc. to ensure that the care needs of the patient are met.</li></ul>

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Patient Services Representative is the first line of quality service to our patients and the community. This position will be responsible for processing patient registration, verifying demographics, obtaining insurance cards, and patient identification. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, explaining financial options to patients, and updating medical records accurately and efficiently. This position will provide excellent customer service and may be asked to occasionally cover other physician practice locations as needed.

Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices</li><li>
Provides strong communication and excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner</li><li>
Answers internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner, routes calls, schedules patients, and enters necessary information for patient scheduling into the computer system in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>
Processes patients in practice as they present for their appointments.</li><li>
Possesses the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly, ensuring patient flow is maintained and informs supervisor of any department and patient issues immediately</li><li>
Processes admission paperwork, including basic insurance verification. Secures, completes and verifies all pertinent patient demographic and insurance information as part of the registration process., Corrects registration errors as needed.</li><li>
Records time indicators for lobby wait times.</li><li>
 Calculates patient liabilities and actively collects and processes patient payments.</li><li>
Reconciles cash drawer at the close of the day.</li><li>
Performs charge entry for external services (i.e. nursing homes) as necessary.</li><li>
Schedules referrals or follow-up appointments and/or assists with scheduling, rescheduling or canceling other services for patients. Assists patients with online scheduling and MyChart as necessary.</li><li>
Assists patients in obtaining necessary referrals for follow-up services and record referrals on tracking tool (referral/consults).</li><li>
Responsible for and/or assist in obtaining proper authorizations and pre-certifications if applicable for all procedures scheduled through the physician practice</li><li>
Pulls patient charts as needed per office policy, files and maintains information as appropriate in chart per policy, and routes charts to clinical staff as indicated in office per policy</li><li>
Verifies RX benefits in electronic health record, per protocol</li><li>
Refers patients to financial counselors when additional financial counseling or payment arrangements are needed. Completes accounts in revenue cycle software</li></ul>

 Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing course or a Nursing Assistant Program.

 Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Neither HS Diploma nor GED required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have experience as a patient care technician in an acute care setting or nursing home; or experience with direct patient care (vitals and ADL job duties) in an assisted living facility.
 </li>
 <li>
 Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and a current Roper St, Francis teammate. Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.
 </li>
 <li>
 Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have a current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.
 </li>
 <li>
 Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an Associates or Bachelor's degree (in any field) with no experience requirement. Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.
