Job Description 
You will join the Client Technology Tribe and become part of our Client Success Platform team.
The team&rsquo;s mission is: to provide the technology for an outstanding customer support experience to millions of Scalable clients. Our foremost strategy is to proactively prevent support cases where feasible by empowering our clients to find solutions independently. We also provide tools and analytics that enable everyone within Scalable to effectively minimise support cases in their areas of expertise.
In this role, you will work on client-facing support journeys as well as internal platforms and services. You will help build and improve support workflows, document and case handling, chatbot and capability integrations, and the technical foundations needed to operate these systems securely and reliably in a regulated environment.
A big part of this role requires a strong product mindset: you will move fast to ship high-impact, client-facing experiences while maintaining a rigorous platform standard. Instead of choosing between quick one-off fixes or endless over-engineering, you will strike the right balance delivering immediate value to our Customers while designing the reusable capabilities, extensible workflows, and robust integration patterns that ensure long-term architectural quality.
AI is a core part of how we work and what we build: from internal engineering workflows to support automation and new client-facing capabilities, you will work hands-on with modern AI tooling and help deliver AI-powered features with real impact.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Support, Design, Data Science, and other engineering teams to deliver measurable improvements in support quality, case prevention, deflection, and operational efficiency.
Your Responsibilities<ul><li>
Build and improve high-quality client-facing experiences and internal tooling that support self-service, case prevention, and efficient support operations.</li><li>
Work across the stack on frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, event-driven workflows, and cloud infrastructure.</li><li>
Design and implement scalable solutions for support workflows, document handling, automation, and cross-service orchestration.</li><li>
Partner closely with Product, Operations, Support, and other engineering teams to deliver solutions with clear business and client impact.</li><li>
Contribute to observability, analytics, experimentation where relevant, and operational excellence across support-related systems.</li><li>
Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code while treating security, privacy, and reliability as first-class concerns.</li><li>
Take ownership from idea to production, helping the team ship pragmatic solutions without compromising engineering quality.</li><li>
Contribute to continuous improvement in architecture, testing, monitoring, and developer experience.</li><li>
Help shape technical direction, mentor teammates, and raise the engineering bar within the team.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical experience.</li><li>
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js and NestJS, building polished, production-grade customer-facing applications across frontend and backend systems.</li><li>
Solid frontend experience with modern web application development.</li><li>
Practical backend experience building and integrating production services experience with Java and/or Kotlin is a plus.</li><li>
Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, authentication and authorisation patterns including JWT, and service-to-service integrations.</li><li>
Experience working with distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, queues, or event-driven architectures is a strong plus.</li><li>
Good working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and observability/debugging in production.</li><li>
Experience delivering complex software with end-to-end ownership, ideally across internal tooling, platforms, or customer-facing products.</li><li>
Strong analytical thinking in both technical and product contexts, with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs.</li><li>
Clear, open, and concise communication skills, with professional fluency in English.</li><li>
Experience in regulated environments, support tooling, workflow automation, or operationally critical systems</li></ul>
