The Medical Scribe role is a hybrid position combining high-level medical documentation with clinical support responsibilities. This role is critical to provider efficiency, accurate coding, and quality patient care delivery. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scribe &amp; Documentation Responsibilities<ul><li>
Document patient visits in real time during physician encounters</li><li>
Accurately record medical history, physical exams, diagnoses, and care plans</li><li>
Document patient education, risks/benefits discussions, and follow-up instructions</li><li>
Ensure accurate capture of ICD-10 diagnoses and documentation to support billing compliance</li><li>
Review and correct documentation errors prior to physician sign-off</li><li>
Record interpretation of labs, imaging, and diagnostic results</li><li>
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, CMS, AMA, and legal documentation standards</li></ul>
Clinical Support Responsibilities<ul><li>
Assist with patient assessment data collection</li><li>
Manage and prioritize telephone encounters</li><li>
Review hospital discharge records and outside clinical documents</li><li>
Support care coordination and follow-up planning</li><li>
Provide delegated clinical care within scope of licensure</li><li>
Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff</li></ul>
Requirements:

Required:<ul><li>
Active Georgia LPN or RN license</li><li>
Current BLS certification</li><li>
Active ACLS certification for RNs</li><li>
Strong medical terminology knowledge</li><li>
Exceptional documentation accuracy and typing proficiency</li><li>
High attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment</li></ul> 
Preferred:<ul><li>
Cardiology experience</li><li>
EMR proficiency</li><li>
Experience with clinical documentation improvement</li></ul>
