Summer 2026 IT Settlements Internship &ndash; Settlements Analyst!

Join Southwest Power Pool (SPP) this summer as a Settlements Analyst Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the testing of new settlement products, assisting in the development and implementation of settlement processes, and collaborating to improve our settlement systems. Our Market Settlements team plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of market and transmission settlement functions, supporting the growth and modernization of energy markets. As as Settlement Analyst Intern, you will:
<ul>
<li>Support daily market and transmission settlement activities and help ensure accuracy in pre- and post-settlement checks</li>
<li>Assist with settlement runs and maintain documentation for compliance with audits</li>
<li>Track progress, resolve data errors, and help improve settlement processes</li>
<li>Contribute to special projects, including Tableau report development, unit testing, member testing, and updating process documents</li>
<li>Respond to data and financial analysis requests and work alongside the Settlements leadership team</li>
<li>Collaborate with your team to meet deadlines while gaining hands-on experience in a real-world energy market environment</li>
</ul>
Internship Overview

What We're Looking For

<li>College student entering senior year in Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
</li>
<li>3.0 GPA or higher
</li>
<li>Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
</li>
<li>Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
</li>
<li>Familiarity with SQL, SAS, Groovy, Java, Linux, Tableau, Oracle, or MongoDB a plus
</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills
</li>
<li>Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and customer-focused mindset
</li>
<li>Basic understanding of business applications and databases
</li>

Summer 2026 IT Cyber Security Internship &ndash; Security Analyst!

Join Southwest Power Pool (SPP) this summer as an IT Intern and gain hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining the security architecture for IT systems. You&rsquo;ll work with a variety of IT subject matter experts to help design, implement, and support cybersecurity controls and solutions&mdash;both technology- and process-based&mdash;ensuring the protection and security of SPP&rsquo;s information system assets.

As part of the IT Cyber Security Team, you will:
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with internal staff on ongoing security concerns, including research, interviews, assessment reports, and management communications
</li>
<li>Manage security tools, appliances, and systems to maintain logical and physical security controls
</li>
<li>Assist with security event monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
</li>
<li>Support compliance with internal security controls and external regulatory requirements related to IT security
</li>
</ul>This internship is a unique opportunity to develop practical cybersecurity skills, gain exposure to enterprise security operations, and contribute to the safety of critical IT systems.

Summer 2026 IT Corporate Applications &ndash; Programmer/Developer!

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking Summer 2026 IT Intern to join our IT Corporate Applications Team as Programmer/Developer. In this role, you&rsquo;ll design, develop, and maintain custom applications (front-end and back-end). These applications include both custom-built and vendor solutions designed to optimize internal customer&rsquo;s daily operations, improving efficiency, productivity, and success rates. Your work will focus on relationship building and collaboration while honing your application design, development, testing, and deployment skills. These applications are critical to SPP&rsquo;s daily tasks, compliance obligations, data transfer, and physical security.

This internship is a chance to build critical technical skills, collaborate with experienced professionals, and see how your work directly contributes to the operations of a major energy organization.
