BWC&rsquo;s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC&rsquo;s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You'll Be Doing: 
Under general direction, you will supervise one claims service team consisting of multiple claims specialists &amp; multiple medical/rehab staff (e.g. Industrial Rehab Nurse, Rehab Case Management Specialist) in managing lost time compensation claims.<ul><li>
Supervise and Lead Team-Oversee one claims service team consisting of multiple claims specialists, ensuring effective management of lost-time compensation claims.</li><li>
Develop and Implement Guidelines-Create and enforce new claims handling procedures to maintain compliance with state, federal, and BWC laws, rules, and regulations.</li><li>
Monitor Quality and Productivity-Review case assignments, monitor accuracy and timeliness, and utilize management reports to track pending cases and performance metrics.</li><li>
Identify and Resolve Issues-Address problem areas such as incorrect award calculations and insufficient documentation; recommend corrective actions.</li><li>
Ensure Documentation and Compliance-Verify that all necessary documentation is obtained for hearings and identify claims requiring vocational intervention based on injury severity and claimant history.</li><li>
Staff Development and Performance Management-Review and approve performance evaluations, recommend training or disciplinary actions, and participate in staff selection, training, and promotion processes.</li><li>

Salary Information: 
Hourly wage is expected to be paid at step 1 of the pay range associated with the position for candidates who are new employees of the state. Movement to the next step of the pay range (a roughly 4% increase) will occur after six months, assuming job performance is acceptable. Thereafter, an employee will advance one step in the pay range every year until the highest step of the pay range is reached. Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Supervisor and with required knowledge of professional nursing to provide nursing and psychiatric care to patients. Psychiatric/DD Nurse (Full Time 2nd Shift)

What you&rsquo;ll do at DBH:<ul><li> Collects blood samples for laboratory analysis for COBH patients</li><li> Performs venipuncture using established phlebotomy procedures to collect blood specimens on patient or staff as requested by medical staff</li><li> Maintains patient testing records per established regulations (e.g. Joint Commission, CMS&hellip;)</li><li> Enters records into appropriate logs (e.g. daily electronic log, testing facility records &hellip;)</li><li> Properly labels specimen collected</li><li> Ensures safety of patient and self by using personal protective equipment and following established phlebotomy safety procedures</li><li> Prepares reports from all record types for performance improvement initiatives.</li><li> Receives, reviews and delivers lab reports to units for appropriate review and placement in medical records.</li><li> Processes and prepares samples for clinical laboratory analysis</li><li> Completes necessary paperwork to safely and legally transport samples to appropriate outside laboratories or for pick-u</li></ul>
This position in an Intermittent Appointment it will work a maximum of 1000 hour in a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). It does not have a set schedule and will work weekends, mainly Saturdays. Other hours may be assigned as needed.
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 27 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. This position is located at COBH, 2200 W. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43223.

Phlebotomist - Part-Time Intermittent
