The goal of the VIN program, by partnering with CID detectives and other commissioned personnel is to deter auto theft and reduce the trade of stolen vehicles and stolen major component parts in Washington State.</div><br>

About the Position:</b><br>
The VIN Officer position supports that mission by conducting VIN inspections to examine and verify the identity of all non-owner retained salvage/rebuilt vehicles, assembled vehicles, or any vehicles referred by the Department of Licensing (DOL) prior to the issuance of a Washington registration or certificate of title. In addition, the VIN Officer assists WSP and allied law enforcement with the identification of suspected stolen vehicles and major component parts.</div><p></p>

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Medical Assistant &ndash; Certified (MA-C) for a limited duration project position at the Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA.</div><div></div><div><br>
The Medical Assistant performs all duties under the supervision of the healthcare provider in a safe and effective manner and within the scope of their practice as defined by state law and administrative code so that patient care provided is safe, effective, efficient and clinically appropriate. The Medical Assistant uses tools, techniques, physical and cognitive skills and abilities to perform tasks as delegated by a healthcare provider.</div><div></div><div><br>
Under the general supervision of the licensed Practitioner and/or lead of the Registered Nurse, the Medical Assistant will assist in providing patient care, which may include performing routine medical records duties, some administrative support, and other clinical duties to assist in the smooth operation of Health Services.</div><div></div><div><br>

<p></p><div><p><b>Assist in providing patient care services within the scope of licensure and as delegated by the licensed Practitioner or Registered Nurse:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Provide assistance in all direct delivery of patient care by the Provider, which includes but is not limited to:<ul><li>

Monitor patient flow in the outpatient clinic to assure timeliness of care and efficient clinical operations.<br>

Preparing patients for, and assisting with, routine and specialty examinations, procedures, treatments.</li><li>
Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas, including cleaning equipment, preparing instruments, supplies, medical records etc. to expedite patient flow and support clinician, as appropriate.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with Patient Services Representatives to ensure patient appointment scheduling, rescheduling, check-in, or no-show is documented appropriately.</li><li>
Maintain immunization and medical records</li></ul><div><br>

Observe, document in the medical record, and report to the Practitioner or Registered Nurse:<ul><li>
Patient history and relevant data</li><li>
Current health status (physical and emotional)</li><li>
Situation of patient, family, groups, and/or communities by interview, observation, and inspection</li></ul></li><li>
Recognize and report abnormal vitals and labs</li><li>
Carry out licensed Practitioners&rsquo; written, verbal, and telephone orders in a timely manner.</li><li>
Monitor patient&rsquo;s condition following procedures: recognize and report emergent/urgent problems or symptomology of common medical illness to the licensed practitioner or Registered Nurse.</li><li>
Respond to emergencies within a facility by providing emergency medical care, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).</li><li>
Other tasks directed by the Physician, ARNP, or Physician&rsquo;s Assistant, that fall under the legal scope of practice of a MA-C.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Provide clinical support to the Health Services Team to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient clinical operations:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Attend briefing from off-going staff upon arrival on shift for pertinent clinical information, including patient&rsquo;s current health status, urgent diagnostic reports, observation rooms, staffing concerns, etc.; brief on-coming clinical staff as appropriate before departing from duty.</li><li>

Ensure exam room is prepared for each patient, including medical records, instruments, etc. to expedite patient flow and support practitioner, as appropriate.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with Patient Service Representatives to ensure patient scheduling, rescheduling, check-in, or no-show is documented appropriately.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Medical Records Documentation:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Legibly document subjective and objective clinical findings and the actions taken to deliver healthcare.</li><li>
Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).</li><li>
Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and via computer or other electronic media with other healthcare personnel, custody, and other institutional personnel.</li></ul><b>
Provide Administrative Support</b><br>
<ul><li>Pre-visit review and prep of patient charts</li><li>Answer phones and prioritize messages</li><li>Pull charts and files documentation as needed for the clinician</li><li>Enter information correctly in computer systems to assist in correct billing for services</li><li>May collect, review,respond to, and distribute medical kites</li><li>Collect mail including lab and consultation reports, attach to patient chart and present to the licensed practitioner for review</li><li>Assist in gathering data for Continuous Quality Improvement Plan (CQIP) as needed or requested</li><li>Reads and responds to email daily</li><li>Interface with community care centers for continuity of care purposes, which may include but is not limited to: submitting medical records requests, coordinating appointments, supplying patient&rsquo;s with community resources, making outbound calls, copying, faxing, etc.</li></ul></div><b>

Completion of a Medical Assistant-Certified program accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).<br>

Initial and unblemished/unrestricted licensure in the State of Washington as a Certified Medical Assistant</li><li>
Experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic setting.</li><li>
Certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid.</li><li>
Ability to work competently in Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel.</li><li>
Ability to learn job specific DOC programs needed to perform work assignments.</li></ul></div><p>
