The Opportunity</b></div><div>
WSDOT is currently seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled individual to serve as the primary point of contact for Construction Division IT support, ensuring staff have reliable access to the tools and systems needed to carry out critical transportation work. The Construction Division&rsquo;s State Materials Laboratory includes Bituminous, Chemical, Physical Testing, and Soil Laboratories and serves as the central testing facility for WSDOT. This position will provide first- and second-tier technical assistance by managing helpdesk requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and coordinating with specialized IT staff to resolve complex technical problems. In addition, the role will support the statewide design, maintenance, and ongoing functionality of the Materials Laboratory and State Construction Office websites, while assisting with routine system maintenance, application testing, and technical support for specialized Materials Laboratory systems. Qualifications</b></div><div>

The role also assists with traffic operations, including signal timing and capacity analysis. <br><b>Responsibilities:</b> Community Resilience and Fuels Management Prescribed Fire Support – Leads crew to conduct site fuels and fire effects data collection, unit preparation, assists with burn plan writing, community outreach, and Rx burn implementation support to include firing, holding, burn boss, etc.Community Resilience - Leads crew to conduct Home Ignition Zone assessments as part of Wildfire Ready Neighbors or independent requests from landowners and/or communities. In addition to Home Ignition Zone assessments, crew members may participate in community education days, plan and participate in community outreach and prevention events, and participate with local cooperators on community outreach projects.Forest Health Treatment – Leads crew to conduct non-commercial thinning and slash abatement, project layout, and compliance in coordination with State Lands and Landowner Assistance staff. Supports forest health project layout, tree marking, road brushing, and GPS data collection surveys. Assists with timber sales, layout, marking, forest cruising, and road maintenance.Wildfire Suppression Protects human life, natural resources, and property on Department-protected lands from wildland and urban interface fires to minimize resource loss and fire costs while ensuring firefighter and public safety. Firefighter safety is the top priority. Provide direct fire line supervision of the hand crew, which responds to grass, brush, and forest fires and is available for district, region, and statewide and/or interagency dispatch. Provides interagency fire suppression activities for initial attack, extended attack, mop-up, patrol, and rehabilitation. On initial attack fires, may perform ICS functions as Incident Commander Type 4 and 5, task force leader, air-to-ground contact, single resource boss, firefighter, timekeeper, or public relations contact. Assists in ensuring safe and efficient use of the SPS Region hand crew as an efficient and effective firefighting resource. Works cooperatively with other fire protection authorities when working on joint jurisdiction fires.In addition to serving as a hand crew member, may serve with other suppression resources/modules that are commensurate with qualifications.PreparednessUnder the guidance of the Crew Foreman, plans and implements training for seasonal firefighters and interagency cooperators. After selected, a detailed in training plan will help you navigate through the program successfully. For the next 18 months, you will perfect your communications skills, ability to negotiate, and other investigative methods in resolving revenue collection activities on delinquent accounts. You will also provide advice, instruction, and training to a diverse customer base. In addition to the above, the list below are other responsibilities associated with a successful completion of the in-training plan and a successful advancement to RA2. The salary for a RA2 is range 50 ($4410.00 - $5929.00):</div>

Independently identifies, investigates, registers, and assesses avoided or evaded excise and/or use taxes from unregistered businesses, and owners of vehicles, vessels, aircraft, and other types of personal property. This includes the location and self-generation of cases or assignments.</li><li>
Comprehends and utilizes complex state tax laws (RCW) and rules (WAC), tax interpretation letters, orders of determination, and departmental policies and procedures to resolve questions, concerns, and objections.</li><li>
With minimal supervision, composes appeal responses that serve as legal briefs summarizing the Department&rsquo;s case in tax appeals.</li><li>
Takes collection action against non-compliant taxpayers, which can include tax warrants, bank/wage garnishments and revocation of business registration certificates.</li><li>
Conducts fieldwork and investigation on delinquent accounts at taxpayer places of business, job sites, and residences.</li><li>
Continuously records contact histories and taxpayer information throughout entire process on appropriate agency systems.</li><li>
