Steel and Pipe Supply

<div>What can you expect from the job?
<ul>
<li>1st shift &ndash; 6:00 a.m. &ndash; 2:30 p.m., Monday &ndash; Friday</li>
<li>Starting wage is $25/hr</li>

Primary Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required</li>
<li>Follow and enforce company safety polices and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others</li>
<li>Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM)</li>
<li>Perform air brake diagnostics, and inspections.</li>
<li>Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs utilizing laptop diagnostic system</li>
<li>Perform floor repairs</li>
<li>Perform minor and major accident repairs</li>
<li>Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs</li>
<li>Perform air brake diagnostics and repairs</li>
<li>Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments</li>
<li>Perform aluminum and steel welding</li>
<li>Perform general repairs on trailer and trailer dollies</li>
<li>Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently</li>
<li>Responsible to adhere to all warranty policies and procedures</li>
<li>Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnostics and repair</li>
<li>Provide accurate documentation on repair orders Research and conform to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) maintenance specifications (as closely as possible)
<ul><li>Deviations from the OEM specifications must be approved by the Facility Manager</li>
</ul></li><li>Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records in accordance with SPS Quality Policy and DOT Regulations</li>
<li>Maintain and organized and clean maintenance shop</li>
<li>Comply with all SPS policies DOT Regulations and OSHA guidelines that impact the maintenance department (not limited to the following):
<ul><li>Lock out / Tag out</li>
<li>Safety Data Sheets</li>
<li>Hazardous Material Usage</li>
</ul></li><li>Train and coach new Maintenance personnel</li>
<li>Procure parts and supplies to ensure equipment up-</li>
<li>Maintain and report expenses for department within budgetary guidelines</li></ul> 


Physical &amp; Work Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Working In a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required daily</li>
<li>Facility is a multiple shift Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.</li>
<li>Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment</li>
<li>Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds</li>
<li>Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy).</li></ul> 


Required Background, Competencies &amp; Expertise:
<ul>
<li>Must understand and meet the FMCSA requirements for PMs and annual inspections as to 49 CFR 396</li>
<li>Must also meet the requirements of 49 CFR Part 396.25 to inspect and work on brakes in accordance to the FMCSA</li>
<li>High school diploma or GED</li>
<li>Three years of related maintenance experience</li>
<li>Detail-oriented and excellent observational skills</li>
<li>Proven experience operating material handling equipment</li>
<li>Basic computer skills (data entry and equipment research)</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li>
<li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li>

Pay and Benefits

<li>Starting pay of $25.00 an hour</li>
<li>Quarterly profit sharing bonus opportunity</li>
