Location:

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. The Senior Construction Account Specialist provides Risk Engineering services for all assigned construction accounts assuring that best in class services are targeted to this customer group. This will be a remote position supporting our West U.S. clients.
At the tactical level, the Senior Construction Account Specialist will provide and implement service planning and direct initiatives to assure the delivery of exceptional construction specific Risk Engineering services. This will include timely completion of daily work assignments on any and all construction Survey and Service accounts including preparation of reports for underwriters that clearly outline exposures, controls, deficiencies and required corrective action. The SCAS must be able to meet the service needs of these more complex accounts and provide service/coordination of multi-location Service accounts. The development of construction focused service plans and providing consultative services to construction clients is paramount.
Job requires travel for client site surveys and/or agency meeting/presentations. Travel could involve car and air travel (estimate 20%-40%).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Handle all construction work assignments for all lines of business including working with large multi-location accounts</li><li>
Evaluate insured exposures (losses/loss analysis) and controls and provide underwriters and agents with direction to improve account conditions and reduce financial exposure</li><li>
Work to understand the insured&rsquo;s business, uncover additional exposures to loss and new service opportunities</li><li>
Complete detailed service plans; provide consultative recommendations in business letters; provide safety training to address losses</li><li>
Communicate the status of service plans in the context of what The Hartford has to offer that would affect the insured&rsquo;s insurance program coverage</li><li>
Direct and manage the services of multi-location accounts through the development and monitoring of Risk Engineering Service Instructions</li><li>
Apply analytical and communication skills and the knowledge of construction operations to uncover the business needs of the insured and be able to converse with the insured using a business consultative approach</li><li>
Make recommendations that will assist the insured&rsquo;s management to correct and prevent the potential for future financial loss. Create and deliver presentations to our insured account, agents, and brokers to provide direction for improved operations and reduce potential financial loss.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>Eight plus years of relevant construction safety management or construction risk engineering expertise</li><li>
A BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field preferred</li><li>
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), or Construction Health and Safety Specialist (CHST) is preferred</li><li>
Ability to work at an advanced skill level when providing Risk Improvement services to construction clients
</li><li>Thorough knowledge of the OSHA 1926 standards, along with the construction industry and various construction processes including safety and risk management techniques utilized on large construction projects</li><li>

Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Research, experiment with, and implement suitable Generative and ML algorithms, tools and technologies.</li><li>Participate in identifying and assessing opportunities i.e. value of new data sources and analytical techniques and technology, to ensure ongoing competitive advantage.</li><li>Review work with leadership and partners on an ongoing basis to calibrate deliverables against expectations.</li><li>Accountable for design, development and maintenance of Models as Service</li><li>Work with junior engineers and peers to provide mentorship and thought leadership. Be comfortable presenting new concepts to technical audiences.</li><li>Collaborate with partners Enterprise Data, Data Science, Business, Cloud Enablement Team, and Enterprise Architecture teams</li><li>Delivery of critical milestones for model deployment in the AWS and GCP clouds.</li><li>Adopt and promote MLOps best practices to the Data Science community.</li><li>Proactively monitor cloud usage to drive cost-saving opportunities across cloud accounts and deployed infrastructure.</li></ul>
 
Minimum Requirements:

The Senior Staff Attorney will strive to deliver the best possible result in pending litigation. In this position the attorney reports to the Staff Legal Managing Attorney or Assistant Managing Attorney.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Attorney with significant knowledge of Northern California courts, considerable trial experience, and demonstrates the ability to independently handle cases from inception through trial.
