About the Role: As a Special Education In-Person Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you&rsquo;ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Choose from Before &amp; Afterschool Hours or weekends (~10-20 hours per month)</li></ul>
Your Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Conduct engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.</li><li>
Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies that align with each student&rsquo;s IEP.</li><li>
Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit the unique learning styles and needs of each student.</li><li>
Track and document student progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as necessary.</li><li>
Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams for a cohesive learning experience.</li><li>
Keep open communication with parents or guardians, discussing student progress and addressing concerns.</li><li>
Foster a safe and inclusive environment that supports emotional and behavioral growth.</li><li>

Ideal Candidate:<ul><li>
Experience working with students with Autism and IEPs in both general education and special education settings
</li><li>Strong understanding of middle school ELA, math, science, and social studies content
</li><li>Skilled in teaching reading comprehension, written expression, and foundational math concepts
</li><li>Able to provide structured, step-by-step instruction with visual supports and scaffolding
</li><li>Experience supporting executive functioning skills, including organization, task initiation, attention, and assignment completion
</li><li>Patient, consistent, and able to build trust with students who may be reluctant learners
</li><li>Comfortable breaking down complex concepts into manageable, easy-to-understand steps

</li><li>Support vocabulary development through explicit instruction, repetition, visuals, and real-world connections
</li><li>Guide writing development using sentence frames, graphic organizers, modeling, and structured paragraph writing techniques
</li><li>Reinforce grammar, punctuation, organization, and transition skills to improve written communication
</li><li>Provide support in pre-algebra and algebra readiness, including fractions, ratios, integer operations, and equation solving
</li><li>Utilize visual models, guided practice, and step-by-step problem-solving strategies to strengthen math understanding
</li><li>Simplify and support science and social studies content through visual aids, guided discussions, note-taking strategies, and comprehension checks
