Position Summary:
Performs safe, effective clinical care for children/adolescents, adults, and older adult patients utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates advanced nursing skills aimed at ensuring optimal patient care, effective communication, and efficiency. Supports nursing research by participating in research activities, when appropriate. Assists in continuing education by assisting with teaching and orientation of staff and students. Collaborates with leadership to coordinate and implement performance improvement activities for the clinic. Provides outreach and education to hospitals and coordinates community-based services to follow treatment plans.
Position Key Accountabilities:<ul><li>
Provides direct patient care approximately 50% of time.</li><li>
Effectively manages all aspects of the patient care process, and documents patient care and outcomes.</li><li>
Participates in regularly scheduled team conferences, as required, and collaborates with related health care providers in treatment, planning and the provision of care.</li><li>
Functions as the nursing liaison with physicians, other multidisciplinary team members, and community agencies/resources.</li><li>
May promote treatment advances available through the clinicians and expand the referral base for the program through regular contact with community physicians and hospitals.</li><li>
Serves as a resource for staff, to include the provision of information concerning evidenced based practice for procedures and other patient care developments.</li><li>
Participates in the development of nursing policies and instructional materials for staff/students.</li><li>
Acts as the lead nurse regarding management of supplies, equipment, and the patient care environment, to include notifying support departments of repairs needed for damaged property, equipment, etc.</li><li>
Prepares and maintains reports concerning operations, as requested.</li><li>
Assists in resolving interdepartmental/intradepartmental clinical problems and/or patient concerns, and leads identified performance improvement initiatives (chart reviews, PI initiatives, etc.).</li><li>
Provides coaching and timely performance feedback to staff, as needed, and reports to Practice Manager/Supervising Physician for continued follow-up with staff.</li><li>
Assists in the coordination of patient care conferences, etc., as indicated.</li><li>
Insures timely completion of monitors/logs for quality control and performance improvement monitoring.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.</li><li>
Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required</li><li>
Clinical specialty certification determined by the department required</li></ul>
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in nursing plus three years nursing experience required Associate's Degree in nursing plus five years nursing experience required Nursing diploma (3 year program) plus four years nursing experience required
Minimum Experience:
3 years of clinical nursing experience required Recent clinical experience in area of specialty preferred

<div>UTHealth Houston's Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' Trauma and Resilience Center Clinic provides evidence‑based, trauma‑focused care for children and adolescents experiencing complex trauma and trauma‑related behavioral health conditions, offering compassionate, family‑centered support. As part of the UT Physicians Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, the center was established to address the growing needs of youth affected by physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; neglect; natural disasters; accidents; serious medical procedures; sex trafficking; and other forms of violence. Informed by the latest research, the clinic delivers accessible, specialized services that foster healing and resilience for children, adolescents, and their families. Bilingual Spanish Speakers strongly preferred.

Position Summary:
Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:<ul><li>
Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to research protocol.</li><li>
Research activities may include some or all of the following: patient recruiting and screening, traditional laboratory experiments and activities, informatics, field interviewer recruiting, screening and training and/or animal laboratories.</li><li>
May maintain clean laboratory equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.</li><li>
Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers.</li><li>
Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.</li><li>
Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for research department.</li><li>
Orders laboratory and/or other supplies as directed by senior research staff.</li><li>
As needed, may coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results.</li><li>
Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.</li><li>
Maintains a schedule designed to identify participants for longitudinal data collection.</li><li>
Trains and achieve mastery of a protocol for interviewing children and their families.</li><li>
