The Department of Aviation and Technical Education at Utah State University is seeking a Flight Instructor / Mentor Pilot / Standardization Officer. Under general direction and guidance, the Certified Flight Instructor provides leadership, instruction, and standardization for flight students in Logan, Utah.</div><div></div><div><br>
The incumbent serves as a Mentor Pilot to both flight instructors and students, promoting professionalism, consistency, and safety across the program. This role includes active participation in standardization efforts, ensuring alignment with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Training Course Outlines (TCO), and USU operational procedures. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, instructional quality, and adherence to standardized teaching practices.</div><div>
This is a full-time, benefited position with an expected workload of approximately 40 hours per week, consisting of:</div><ul><li>
30 hours per week as a CFI/CFII, including instruction and stage checking</li><li>
10 hours per week dedicated to teaching, standardization, mentor pilot duties, safety oversight, and/or other assignments as directed by the Chief or Assistant Chief Flight Instructors</li></ul><div>
In addition, the incumbent will assist with program development, instructor mentorship, and other duties as assigned by leadership. Hours and work weeks may vary depending on requirements, but tracking of all worked hours will be required.</div>
Responsibilities:

Serve as a Mentor Pilotto flight instructors and students, fostering professionalism and instructional consistency - you may be required to help new hired CFI&rsquo;s transition to USU standards.</li><li>
Conduct and supervise flight training activities</li><li>
Monitor and evaluate student and instructor flight performance</li><li>
Perform stage checks, end-of-course tests, and flight instructor proficiency checks</li><li>
Ensure compliance with FARs, TCOs, and university policies</li><li>
Actively participate in and support standardization efforts, including initial and recurrent instructor standardization</li><li>
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized teaching techniques and procedures</li><li>
Support the Standardization Officer function, helping ensure consistency across instructors, syllabi, and training outcomes.</li><li>
Advise and support lead flight instructors and training staff</li><li>
Participate in recruitment, interviews, and hiring recommendations for prospective flight instructors</li><li>
Interview prospective students and parents as needed</li><li>
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate training records</li><li>

This position is responsible for providing leadership for the Subscriptions Team, and will work collaboratively with University offices overseeing procurement, contracts, and payments; Library colleagues within the Collections &amp; Discovery department, Information Technology (LIT) team and liaison teams; and faculty and student stakeholders.</div><div><br>

Provide academic, career, and college advising to GU students and their families/guardians at Emery High School, Canyon View Middle School, and San Rafael Middle School in both one-on-one and groups settings (e.g. workshops, tutoring, activities, etc.)</li><li>

The Office of Legal Affairs is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant Senior position on the Logan Campus. The Administrative Assistant Senior position performs a variety of administrative support and secretarial duties in the direct support of the Legal Affairs department, including the Office of General Counsel and Compliance. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant Senior position may be expected to train and guide Staff Assistants and/or hourly or student employees, and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned. This position reports to the University General Counsel.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Performs office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, calendar management, maintaining/ordering office supplies, and other general office duties as assigned.</li><li>
Screens inquiries and requests; uses judgement and tact to prioritize schedules, calendars, and meetings.</li><li>
Provides administrative support, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings/conferences, and arranging office travel and reimbursements for staff and visitors as needed.</li><li>
Handles purchasing and reconciliation of office supplies and necessities.</li><li>
Serves as a liaison with other departments and constituencies in the resolution of matters concerning the activities and operations of the department.</li><li>
Composes and word-processes various standard documents, correspondence, and reports.</li><li>
Prepares agendas, coordinates meetings, and transcribes meeting minutes.</li><li>
Maintains current personnel files.</li><li>
Plans and executes events, including banquets, receptions, retreats, etc.</li><li>
Assists with the hiring, training, and supervision of other office personnel.</li><li>
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.</li><li>
Maintains attorney-client privilege and confidentiality regarding business data and personal information.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:</b></div><ul><li>
Six years of experience; or vocational/technical training/associate degree in an office or business field plus four years of related experience; or a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field plus two years of experience is required.</li></ul><div><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Familiarity with USU databases, processes, and procedures.</li><li>
Experience with and understanding of legal matters and affairs.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</b></div><ul><li>
