**Position requires all three shifts worked rotating, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 7 day spans**Position SummaryThe Quality Control Lab Technician (Melt Shop) plays a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality steel by monitoring and verifying metal compositions throughout the melting process. This position is responsible for analyzing samples, validating chemical compositions, and making real-time recommendations to achieve required specifications for steel billets and finished rebar products.This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude and a strong foundation in quality control practices.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Collect and analyze molten steel samples to verify chemical composition and ensure compliance with product specifications</li><li>Monitor melt shop processes to maintain consistent production of high-quality steel billets</li><li>Interpret lab results and make informed recommendations on alloy and metal additions to achieve target grades</li><li>Collaborate with furnace operators and production teams to adjust compositions in real time</li><li>Ensure all steel meets internal quality standards and customer requirements before casting</li><li>Maintain accurate records of test results, adjustments, and production data</li><li>Identify deviations or inconsistencies and escalate concerns as needed</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment</li><li>Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process efficiency</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred</li><li>Basic understanding of metals, alloys, or steel production is a plus (training provided)</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret data accurately</li><li>Ability to make sound, timely decisions in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Good communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to work in a high-temperature industrial environment</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods</li><li>Must be able to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 25&ndash;50 lbs]</li><li>Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times</li></ul>Work Environment<ul><li>Industrial melt shop setting with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment</li><li>Shift work will be required, including days, evening, nights, and weekends</li></ul>Pre employment background check, drug test, HPE and physical are requirements prior to being hired.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Quality control: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Language:<ul><li>Spanish/English (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Anthony, TX 79821 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
