Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel for a large QSR Group in Sugar Land, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of legal expertise, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, and litigation. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide sound legal advice, manage complex legal matters, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The General Counsel will play a critical role in supporting the organization&rsquo;s objectives while safeguarding its interests.Duties<ul><li>Provide legal guidance on various matters including estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, family law, and personal injury law.</li><li>Oversee litigation processes and represent the organization in court as necessary.</li><li>Negotiate contracts and agreements to protect the organization's interests.</li><li>Conduct legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.</li><li>Draft and review legal documents including contracts, policies, and compliance materials.</li><li>Advise on securities law matters and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.</li><li>Manage immigration-related issues for employees as needed.</li><li>Stay updated on changes in laws affecting the organization, including tribal laws and regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with external counsel when necessary to address specific legal issues or litigation.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.</li><li>Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.</li><li>Proven experience in a law office setting with a focus on various areas of law including but not limited to workers' compensation law, patent law, and litigation.</li><li>Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes in complex negotiations.</li><li>Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting and documentation.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.</li><li>Prior experience managing legal administrative tasks is preferred.
