Bank Teller/Customer Service Representative

Overview

Bank of Deerfield is a community bank dedicated to excellent customer service. Founded in 1887, the bank has a long history of building relationships in our community. We currently have an opening for a full-time Customer Service Representative/Bank Teller.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a solid understanding of banking products and industry standards. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills in the banking industry.

Duties

• Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, performing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, selling cashier's checks, answering questions in person or on telephone, referring customers to other bank services.
• Completes special requests by closing accounts, taking orders for checks, providing special statements, copies, and referrals, completing safe-deposit box procedures.
• Delivers excellent customer service in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers' needs, directing customers to a branch representative.
• Handle cash drawer operations, process cash transactions accurately, and perform cash management duties.
• Maintain compliance with financial regulations and industry standards during all customer interactions.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reporting, and correspondence.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in customer service within the financial or banking industry is preferred.
• Cash Handling Experience Preferred But Not Required.
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite, and 10-key typing skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
• Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, debits & credits, and cash management tasks.
• Knowledge of industry compliance standards related to financial transactions and fraud prevention.
• Ability to handle cash drawer operations accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in finance or banking are a plus.

Availability Requirements:

Must be available to work evenings until approximately 5:00pm or 5:30pm and Saturday mornings. Flexibility in hours can be applied in setting up a schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 – 40.0 per week
