Overview: The Exercise Specialist provides exercise programming, prescription, and exercise therapy for the cardiac rehab program and assists as needed in the provision of other department functions for individuals with medical conditions requiring participation in a clinical setting. The Exercise Specialist applies clinical expertise and advanced knowledge in exercise science to the development of evaluation tools for the clinical practices of the department and its programs. Duties include review of patient's medical history, determination of appropriate testing protocols, and explanation of test to the patient. Department Description:
