Experienced Mainline Technician — Art Morse Auto Repair Battle Ground, WA | $30-$38/hour base + prod

Art Morse Auto Repair is a 9-bay independent shop in Battle Ground, WA, 20 minutes north of Vancouver and a short drive from the Portland metro. We're owner-operated and built from the ground up by someone who came up through every role in the bay. That shows in how the shop runs — clear structure, real systems, and a team that's been put together carefully over time.

The crew you'd be joining: Four technicians — two diagnostic, two mainline — and two service advisors who actually know what they're doing and are easy to work with. You'd be our fifth tech, our third on the mainline side. Everyone here backs each other up. No drama, no politics, no chop-shop nonsense. Just a group of professionals who respect each other's work and take pride in what leaves the bay.

What you'd be doing: Mainline repair across domestic, Asian, and European platforms — engine repair, brakes, suspension, cooling, steering, drivetrain, and the full range of mid-to-heavy mechanical work. Our diag techs handle the bulk of drivability and electrical diagnostics, so jobs come to you with clear direction. You focus on executing clean repairs, not chasing intermittent codes for half a day at flag rates that don't pay. Diag capability is welcome but not required.

What we offer:

• Base pay $30-$38/hour DOE, with production-based bonuses on top
• Production bonus structure: Measured weekly. 3% pay increase at 80% production, with an additional 3% at each 5% gate, capping at 21% additional pay at 110% production. A tech hitting 100% production at $35 base earns $40.25/hour effective for that week.
• Monday-Friday, 8-5, one-hour lunch. No weekends.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of professional repair experience
• Strong mainline repair skills — engine repair, brakes, suspension, cooling, steering, drivetrain
• Clean, careful work habits — attention to detail matters here
• Full personal tool set for mainline work
• Valid driver's license with insurable record
• Ability to communicate clearly with service advisors and document your work in DVI
• ASE certifications a plus, not required
• Diagnostic capability a plus, not required
