Laser Technician / Licensed Esthetician — Advanced Skin & Laser Treatments

Laser Technician / Licensed Esthetician — Advanced Skin & Laser Treatments

Location: Deerfield Beach, FL
Practice Type: Medical Spa

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laser Technician / Licensed Esthetician to join our growing med spa in Deerfield Beach, FL.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience with advanced skin treatments and laser/light-based technologies such as IPL, laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, pigmentation correction, acne scar treatments, skin rejuvenation, RF, microneedling, and other corrective aesthetic treatments.

This is not a basic facialist role. We are looking for someone who understands skin, devices, consultations, treatment planning, package recommendations, patient safety, and how to combine treatments strategically for better results.

Specific laser brand experience is welcome, but not required. We are open to candidates trained on different aesthetic platforms. What matters most is strong hands-on experience, good clinical judgment, understanding of skin types, comfort with consultations, and the ability to help us grow our skin and laser treatment menu.

Key ResponsibilitiesLaser & Advanced Skin Treatments

Perform or assist with advanced skin and laser/light-based treatments within your license, training, and Florida scope of practice, which may include:

  • IPL / photofacial treatments
  • Laser hair removal
  • Skin resurfacing treatments
  • Pigmentation correction
  • Sun spot and hyperpigmentation treatments
  • Acne and acne scar protocols
  • Skin rejuvenation / laser toning
  • Texture and pore-refining treatments
  • RF skin tightening
  • Microneedling or microchanneling, if properly trained and permitted
  • Chemical peels
  • Medical-grade facials
  • Hydrafacial-style treatments
  • Pre- and post-laser skincare support
  • Combination treatment protocols using lasers, peels, facials, RF, microneedling, and home care

Consultations & Skin Analysis

  • Perform detailed skin consultations and comprehensive skin analysis.
  • Identify concerns such as acne, pigmentation, melasma, sun damage, texture, enlarged pores, scarring, aging, laxity, redness, and sensitivity.
  • Conduct Fitzpatrick skin typing and understand how skin type impacts laser selection, settings, treatment risk, and post-care.
  • Review contraindications, medications, recent sun exposure, previous treatments, and skin history.
  • Recommend customized treatment plans based on client goals, skin condition, budget, timeline, and maintenance needs.
  • Educate clients on realistic expectations, number of sessions needed, downtime, risks, benefits, pre-care, and post-care.
  • Recommend packages rather than one-off services when appropriate.

Laser / Device Knowledge

We are looking for someone who understands lasers and aesthetic devices beyond simply operating a machine. The ideal candidate should be able to explain:

  • What each device does
  • Which skin concerns each device treats
  • Which clients are good candidates
  • Which clients are not good candidates
  • How Fitzpatrick skin type affects laser safety and settings
  • How to recognize treatment endpoints
  • How to reduce risk of burns, PIH, irritation, or adverse reactions
  • When to choose IPL versus laser resurfacing versus RF versus microneedling
  • How to combine treatments safely
  • What results are realistic
  • What maintenance looks like

Experience with devices such as IPL, diode laser hair removal, Alexandrite, Nd:YAG, pico/nano lasers, erbium, CO2, RF, RF microneedling, ultrasound, skin tightening, and body contouring devices is a strong plus. Experience in every category is not required.

Specific device-brand experience is welcome but not required. We are open to candidates trained on platforms such as Lumenis, Candela, Cynosure, Alma, Cutera, Sciton, BTL, Venus, InMode, Lutronic, Hydrafacial, SkinPen, ProCell, or other advanced aesthetic technologies.

Treatment Menu, Packages & Protocol Development

This role may also help us build and refine our skin and laser treatment offerings. Responsibilities may include:

  • Helping design the laser, skincare, and advanced facial menu.
  • Recommending which treatments should be sold individually versus in packages.
  • Creating treatment series for laser hair removal, pigmentation, acne scars, anti-aging, resurfacing, skin tightening, and maintenance.
  • Helping develop pre-care and post-care protocols.
  • Advising on skincare pairings and home-care regimens.
  • Supporting new laser/device launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Helping train the team on treatment flow, client education, consultation structure, and service standards.

Sales, Upselling & Client Retention

The ideal candidate should be comfortable recommending treatments, packages, and skincare products in a consultative, professional, non-pushy way.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend customized laser and skincare packages.
  • Educate clients on why a series is often needed for best results.
  • Upsell complementary services such as facials, peels, microneedling, RF, skincare, lymphatic drainage, body treatments, or other appropriate add-ons.
  • Recommend home-care products that support in-office results.
  • Help improve client retention, rebooking, and package sales.
  • Track client progress and help clients stay committed to their treatment plan.
  • Participate in promotions, treatment launches, educational content, and social media when appropriate.

Documentation, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate client records, treatment notes, consent forms, and before/after photos when applicable.
  • Follow all spa protocols, sanitation standards, infection-control procedures, and device safety guidelines.
  • Follow Florida state regulations and work within your license, training, and scope of practice.
  • Follow medical director protocols where required.
  • Recognize contraindications, adverse reactions, and situations that require escalation to a medical provider.
  • Educate clients clearly on risks, benefits, pre-care, post-care, and expected outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with laser safety, skincare protocols, and aesthetic technology advancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Florida Facial Specialist, Esthetician, Cosmetology, Electrologist, or other applicable Florida license/credential.
  • Laser/light-based training or hands-on laser experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in advanced aesthetics, medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, or high-end spa environment preferred.
  • Experience with IPL, laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, pigmentation treatments, or corrective skin treatments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of skin conditions, skin analysis, Fitzpatrick skin types, and treatment planning.
  • Comfortable conducting consultations and recommending packages.
  • Strong communication and client education skills.
  • Professional, polished, warm, and client-focused.
  • Strong attention to documentation, safety, sanitation, and client care.
  • Willingness to participate in training, content creation, and treatment launches.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IPL, laser hair removal, pico/nano lasers, erbium, CO2, RF, RF microneedling, microneedling, skin tightening, or other aesthetic devices.
  • Florida Electrologist license, if applicable to the services performed.
  • Understanding of laser basics, including wavelengths, energy settings, skin type, endpoints, contraindications, and adverse-event prevention.
  • Experience treating Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI.
  • Knowledge of medical-grade skincare and post-laser skincare protocols.
  • Proven ability to sell treatment packages and improve client retention.
  • Before-and-after portfolio, if available.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese preferred.
  • Social media presence or willingness to appear in educational/promotional content.

You may be a strong fit if you are someone who:

  • Loves corrective skin treatments, not just facials.
  • Has real hands-on experience with lasers or advanced devices.
  • Understands how to assess skin before choosing a treatment.
  • Can explain the “why” behind IPL, resurfacing, laser hair removal, RF, peels, and skincare.
  • Knows how to recommend packages without sounding pushy.
  • Understands the importance of safety, contraindications, and realistic expectations.
  • Can help us decide which laser and skincare treatments belong on the menu and how to package them.
  • Is excited to help grow a med spa brand.
  • Values safety, results, professionalism, and client trust.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
