Law Offices Mario A. Garcia, P.A. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and staff across a range of commercial and real estate matters. The ideal candidate will assist with case preparation, document management, client communication, legal research, and day-to-day office operations while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling commercial, real estate, civil, litigation, and bankruptcy matters.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other case materials.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of court documents and other legal filings.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files and records.
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather information relevant to ongoing matters.
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, discovery, document review, and trial or hearing preparation as needed.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, deadlines, and appointments for attorneys and clients.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
  • Assist with real estate transaction documentation and administrative tasks related to commercial and civil matters.
  • Support bankruptcy-related matters involving both debtors and creditors.
  • Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding documents, signatures, and case-related requirements.
  • Handle confidential client and firm information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Perform general administrative duties and provide additional support to the legal team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or in a related administrative role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common document-management tools.
  • Ability to learn and work with legal case-management and filing systems.
  • Professional judgment and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and court filing procedures is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate, commercial litigation, civil transactions, or bankruptcy law is preferred but not required.
