Duties

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using established clinical standards and ICD coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis, and trauma-informed care.
• Provide individual, and group therapy sessions focusing on mental health interventions for conditions including PTSD, substance use disorders, , developmental disabilities, and geriatrics.
• Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or behavioral challenges.
• Document all clinical encounters accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, educators in special education settings, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Collect data for clinical research projects aimed at improving mental health services and outcomes; participate in quality assurance activities related to clinical documentation standards.

Skills

• Proven expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as harm-reduction, recovery-oriented, person-centered, trauma-informed, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and addiction counseling.
• Strong knowledge of mental health assessments, psychiatric patient care, diagnosis coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical terminology.
• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Skilled in crisis intervention strategies and managing complex cases involving trauma or substance use disorders.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and data collection; familiarity with HIPAA compliance policies.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including intake procedures and case management activities.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement, social work practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration within hospital or community care settings.
