Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the unit nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.

Take vital signs, blood glucose readings, and monitor intake/output and records patient information accurately.

Assist with mobility and positioning of patients to prevent pressure ulcers and promote comfort.

Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the nursing team promptly.

Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Maintain a clean and organized patient environment to ensure safety and infection control.

Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to meet patient care goals.

Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.

Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory policies and procedures.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Completion of accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program and maintain current certification as a CNA by the State of Missouri
-
Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.

Previous experience in the Medical/Surgical or similar setting preferred.
Position Summary:
The Nurse Tech/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Medical/Surgical department is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care services, within the scope of practice, under the supervision of the unit nurses/House Supervisor and the direction of the Director. The nurse tech/CNA must adhere to the hospital’s policies and procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
